  1. I bid up to $130 for a 4*, and in the process one of Express Deals I was hoping to nab at a lower price disappeared. I saw the 3.5* Express offer for what I thought was Club Quarters Midtown and it seemed like a good compromise. Took the deal at $133 and that's what I got. The amenities are Free Internet, Restaurant, Fitness Center and Business Center. Total cost $499, which beats the hotel's web site price of $568. I'm happy with this win...the location works well for me and the hotel looks nice. I used the Priceline links from the site.
  2. Sure, here's the list: Free Parking Pool(s) Golf nearby Free breakfast Restaurant(s) Tennis nearby Fitness center Business center
  3. This wasn't on the hotel list. Total with fees was $299.14 or $74.78/night. I used the BB HOTWIRE link.
  4. Great deal on this. Bid $70 and got a counter at $82 Went up to $73 and accepted. It was $85 on Express Deals and $179 retail. Used the BB PRICELINE link.
  5. I thought I was low-balling it when I put in my first bid at $60 but got it on the first try. Great deal considering the retail price for this hotel is $189. Similar deal on hotwire was $78 so pleasantly surprised with the rate. Used the PRICELINE link.
  6. Got this on the first bid so I may have overpaid slightly. Retail rate is $89, $103 with taxes and fees. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $72.00 Subtotal: $72.00 Taxes & Fees: $20.50 Total Charges*: $92.50
  7. Initial bid was $55, got a counter at $70. Started increasing bids in $1 increments and got done at $61. Total charges $77.48. This is a great deal considering that the cheapest rate on the hotel's site is $183, and that there is a big cheerleading convention in town. Used the PRICELINE link.
  8. Have been bidding at 4* and 3.5* in midtown, up to $158 on 4* and $149 on 3.5* and failed. Then tried 3* at $110 and got a $140 counteroffer on ESB and MSG zones, but not CPS zone. After some rebids and adding CPS I got it on the next bid at $120. Decent deal, probably the same hotel on Hotwire is $129...Hotels.com cheapest rate is $131, but lowest on hotel's site is $157. Used the PRICELINE link.
  9. Now that I am looking at the 2003 last update, I'm wondering why this list is never updated. Six years and no update? Please.
  10. I apologize for forgetting to use the HOTWIRE link. It's been a while since I've traveled and am "out of practice" if you will. Anyway, a new data point for the board and hotel list.
  11. This is a previously unreported hotel. I really thought this was going to be the Dreams resort, but I'm okay with this one. Retail price is $235/night. Resort, Complimentary Breakfast, Children's Activity Program, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Laundry Facilities, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services, All Inclusive
  12. Used the PRICELINE link booking for a friend. The Food Safety Summit is taking place on this day and the next, hence the significantly higher rate. Bid up to $320 for the following night and got nothing, so he booked directly at $340 or so I think.
  13. 4/25/09-4/27/09. Paid $69, booked this for a friend using the PRICELINE link.
  14. The amenities are Fitness Center, Laundry and High Speed Internet. I guess you're just trying to keep the hotel list up to date?
  15. I saw this deal yesterday and before I could book it, it was gone. I ended up booking this hotel via Hotels.com at $193, but then got a "Price drop alert" email from HOTWIRE so cancelled that reservation and took the deal at $184. Oddly enough, I bid up to $182 for a 3* hotel on PRICELINE (which would include this Club Quarters hotel) and got nothing. I used the HOTWIRE link on this board.
  16. Was interested in the Copley Square district, began bidding at $90, worked up to $105, rejected, rebid at $108 and was accepted. Retail rate is $199, so a good savings. Used the PRICELINE link.
  17. Thanks for your suggestion on 6 Columbus Circle. I just checked and they have no rooms for my date. Even my Club Quarters deal is no longer available so space is filling up it seems. I'll note the Hotels.com link for future reference. Normally I can get what I need on priceline but in this case I wasn't getting anything via priceline at a much better rate, and with children I needed to avoid a hotel with ultra-small rooms.
  18. In earlier bidding I received a counteroffer for this zone at $189. Kept increasing the bids and after failing at $169 my offer was accepted at $171. This bid also included the other midtown zones. I used the PRICELINE links on this page for the bid. Also, I tried extending my stay two nights (Sat. and Sun.) but it was not accepted since the Sat. rate was much higher. After failing up to $215 for a 4*, I went down to 3* and failed up to $190 for most Manhattan zones. I ended up booking on Hotels.com, getting Club Quarters Downtown for $193 + fees.
  19. Was bidding for a 3* in all the relevant Orlando zones, raising $1 at a time. This is the first one that came up, looks pretty good. Retail price of the room is $107. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $54.00 Subtotal: $54.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $14.53 Total Charges*: $68.53
  20. Just got back from this trip. The hotel is great. I needed two beds and was wondering if they would charge for the "upgrade" of two queens instead of a king. I simply made my request at check-in and they gave me what I wanted no questions asked. The room they gave me was on the 31st floor with a decent view, so they seem to be trying to make people happy. Would definitely go back, and hope the rates remain this low the next time I go.
  21. Been bidding the last several days raising a dollar at a time. Got done tonight at $57. Nice deal considering the price on the Holiday Inn web site is $187. Used the savingsbarn link as usual. The hotwire price for what I believe is this hotel is $73. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $57.00 Subtotal: $228.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $42.40 Total Charges*: $270.40
  22. This was a tough one. I began bidding on 3* Downtown and failed all the way up to $109. It's a holiday weekend, but I'm not sure why the prices are so high. I then tried 2.5* Downtown and Lookout Mtn. starting out around $50, both failed up to $63. Started over with Lookout Mtn. only at $65 and it was accepted. The retail price of this hotel which is new to the hotel list is $89/night. What I believe to be the same hotel on HOTWIRE is $79/night. Used the savingsbarn.com link. Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Chattanooga I-24 West Offer Price: $65 Subtotal: $130 Taxes and Service Fees: $30.92 Total Charges: $160.92
  23. The Monte Carlo has announced they will reopen on February 15. http://www.reuters.com/article/rbssConsume...832864720080209
  24. I had been bidding for 4* on these days, but with the Monte Carlo at least temporarily dropping out and the good rates I've been seeing on the Palazzo I decided to go for 5*. Did a low ball bid on 2/22-2/24 (Fri. and Sat.) at $100 and got a counteroffer of $155 (got the same counteroffer on the Sun-Tues for what it's worth). Raised my bid to $135, then kept raising my bid $1 at a time until I got to $139 which was accepted. The avg. retail rate for these nights is $314, so fantastic deal...thanks to the board and those who have reported their wins. Used the savingsbarn.com link. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $139.00 Subtotal: $556.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $70.39 Total Charges*: $626.39
