  1. Thanks AaronJB. This is going to be my fourth time to Chicago and I've always stayed right downtown, so I was kind of hoping to stay further north and check this area out a little bit. I was prepared for parking downtown to be expensive, but like you said, it seems even higher than when I was last there two years ago! Now we just need the weather to co-operate and be nice for a few days in June and we're all set!!!
  2. Started bidding at $115/night and used my free re-bid zones to increase up to $120, $126 and finally to $131. I should mention that I used a 7% off code that had been emailed to me, so my final price ended up being about $27 cheaper. Sounds like the parking garage next door is $45 for a full day, so will definitely have to look around nearby for something a bit cheaper, since we won't be using the car while we're in town. Of course, used the PRICELINE link to book everything!!
  3. I'm not over 40, but I still might check out the shop, thanks! And I can't seem to edit the title of this post, but it should read 3* and not 4*. Thanks again!
  4. Thanks for getting back to me. I kind of thought it would be the Holiday Inn and went ahead and booked it. Turns out you were right and it was the Holiday Inn - Lower East Side. Pretty happy with the rate of $117 for our five nights. Thanks for your help and of course used your PRICELINE links to start the purchase!
  5. Hello, I've never used PRICELINE EXPRESS before but they have a 3* available for our dates, Feb. 12 to Feb 17th, in the Lower East Side, with a listed price of $117 per night. The amenities listed are: Free internet, Restaurant, Business Centre and Fitness Centre. Any help identifying this hotel would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for the help and I'll be sure to book through your Priceline Express link.
  6. Stayed at this property last year and was very happy with it. Started my bidding at $40, and increased to $45, $49 before being accepted for $52. Used the PRICELINE link!
  7. Thanks for all the information. We ended up using the the free shuttle to Midway Airport and then took the Orange Line downtown. The hotel shuttle even picked us up at night, so considering my mistake, things turned out to work quite well!
  8. Sorry, forgot to list the hotel! I ended up with the Doubletree Chicago Alsip. It looks like a nice enough property. I was thinking the orange or red line would be the best option, but thanks for confirming and for your sympathy!
  9. So I'm an idiot and while trying to get a free re-bid zone for downtown, I selected the Midway Airport Area instead of Midway Airport North. We were planning on spending our time downtown, does anyone have any advise on the best way to get downtown, besides driving? Is parking available at the Red/Orange lines and is it safe to leave your car their for the day? Any other ideas or suggestions, or should I just bite the bullet and drive downtown and park for the day? I did use the PRICELINE link to book my hotel, and ended up getting my price reduced thanks the the Priceline Big Deal Gaurantee.
  10. After a little more digging, and based on the location and free parking. I'm guessing this is the Howard Johnson. I checked out their website directly and they are offering basically the same price (within a few dollars), and it is refundable. I booked through their website, and will keep an eye for anything better showing up. If anyone thinks the one star is something else, please let me know! Thanks!
  11. Looking for help identifying a one star hotel on the Mag Mile. I'm heading to Chicago on June 3, staying for three nights and rooms are VERY expensive. There is currently a one star available at $126 per night. There are no Hotwire reviews but the amenities listed are: Free parking and High-Speed internet access. It doesn't appear this hotel has been ID' yet, but just wondering if anyone has a guess as to what it might be. The Red Roof Inn, or something else possibly? Thanks for any potential guesses.
  12. Super 8 June 12-14, 2011 Ammenties: Complimentary breakfast, high-speed internet access. This seems a little expensive for this type of property and location, but downtown is crazy for these dates and this seems like a decent location to get to Wrigley and downtown from. This is the property I thought it would be, ended up saving $35 off their website rates. Used the HOTWIRE link for my purchase! Thanks!

  15. Thanks Yellowdog, This is a replacement for the 3.5* post earlier. I originally was going to spend the first night in Hollywood, then two nights in Beverly Hills-West Hollyywood, but ended up switching it around. I'm now spending the first two nights in Beverly Hills and the last night in Hollywood. Thanks for merging the posts appropriately.
  16. I ended up bidding $56 per night and being rejected, added my re-bid zone and won the Hollywood Heights Hotel for $60 per night for the night of 8/31/09. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $60.00 Subtotal: $60.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $16.07 Total Charges*: $76.07 This is the hotel I was hoping for, thanks for the help! I used the PRICELINE link to make my purchase.
  17. I ended up switching my dates a little and ended up with the Le Parc Suites for the Saturday and Sunday night of my trip (08/29/09 - 08/31/09). Hotel Hotel rate per night: $130.00 Nights: 2 Rooms: 1 Subtotal: $260.00 Tax recovery charges and fees: $37.26 Total price: $297.26 Amenities listed were: Suite, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Laundry, High Speed Internet, Kitchenette This is what I was hoping for and it looks like a great hotel. Used the HOTWIRE link for my purchase. Thanks for the help
  18. I searched again and was still able to get the hotel I described. I searched for 1 room, 2 adults. My dates are 8/30/09 to 09/01/09 EDIT - Just searched for it a third time, and it is no longer there now. I guess I'll have to keep an eye on this to see if it shows up again.
  19. There is a 3.5 star in Beverley Hills - West Hollywood for the Sunday and Monday night listed at $104 per night with the following amenities: Suite, Fitness Centre, Pool and High-Speed Internet. It also a tripadvisor rating of 4, based on 120+ customer ratings. I'm guessing this might be the Chamberlain West Hollywood, if it was downgraded to a 3.5 star. Any other ideas as to what it might be? Thanks again for the help.
  20. Not sure if this should be its own thread, but I'll put it here for now. I'm ready to book the 2.5 star for Saturday, August 29th but I now have a question regarding my next two nights stay. There is now a 3.5 star in Beverley Hills - West Hollywood for the Sunday and Monday night listed at $104 per night with the following amenities: Suite, Fitness Centre, Pool and High-Speed Internet. It also a tripadvisor rating of 4, based on 120+ customer ratings. I'm guessing this might be the Chamberlain West Hollywood, if it was downgraded to a 3.5 star. Any other ideas as to what it might be? Thanks again for the help.
  21. I'm going to stick with using HOTWIRE for this trip, because I have some hot Dollar credits that I have to use fairly soon. I'm going to be in LA for a total of three nights, August 29th to September 1st. I will probably book a 4 star in Beverly Hills-West Hollywood for the Sunday and Monday night through HOTWIRE (looks like the Le Parc Suites is available). The Saturday night (29th) I was just hoping to get something a little cheaper, in preferably the Hollywood area but Beverly Hills-West Hollywood would be fine as well. I just wanted to see if I could narrow down what these two cheaper options might be. Thanks, and I'll be sure to use the HOTWIRE link when I do book.
  22. This will be my first time going to LA and am looking for some help with this one night. When I search for 1 night in Hollywood, August 29th, for two people, I get the following hotels: 2 Star - Complimentary breakfast, pool and laundry (3.5 Tripadvisor rating, with over 40+ reviews) 2.5 star - Complimentary breakfast and Hi-Speed internet I would appreciate anyones best guess as to what these two hotels might be. Thanks in advance.
  23. I booked 4 rooms at the Wynn in February with a total of 8 people (2 per room) and was able to get two beds for each room. I can't gaurantee that it will work out for you, but it did for us :)
  24. Just a question to everyone that decided to rebook with the Wynn. Has anyone been re-charged for their nights at the Wynn? I was refunded for the reservation I made with Planet Hollywood, so as of now I haven't paid Hotwire anything. I called the Wynn yesterday and they said my reservation was still cancelled, so I called Hotwire and they said as long as I got the email from them saying I was rebooked that I was okay. They said I would be charged for the room at some point in the future. Just want to know if this is what's happened so far with everyone else. Thanks.
  25. I was 'walked' from the Wynn for next weekend and ended up getting a refund and rebooking through Hotwire and got Planet Hollywood. I just got a call from Hotwire telling me that the Wynn was now available for my original reservation from Feb. 13 - Feb. 16 and that they would refund my Planet Hollywood reservation and rebook the Wynn at the original price. I kinda hate myself for doing it because I know the only reason this happened is that Wells Fargo cancelled their reservations, but I agreed to switch back to the Wynn, as it saves our group almost $400, I get to keep the HotDollars that they gave me and the group was really looking forward to staying at the Wynn. The woman phoning me said I was the first person she called, so some people may be expecting a phone call this evening as well. This wasn't the funnest situation, but at least it looks like we're going to get what we originally paid for, one way or another!
