I'm closing this thread. See new posting re: 8/11 - 8/12.
We eliminated the child and everything changed!
I played around with pretty much every conceivable combination of stars/zones, etc., and came up with a genuine home run: Wed. 8/11 - Thurs 8/12 4* Royalton $175.00 This has to be one of the best deals I have ever gotten on either Priceline or Hotwire. Price on website was $429.00.
Booked through link above!
Amenities are the same:
Complimentary breakfast
Fitness Center
Business center
high speed internet
(and searched thus BB link!)
The 3* MSG was there today (7/22) at 4:00 p.m. I searched using 2 adults and 1 child.
Actually, I just reviewed my records and discovered that I booked the Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek directly with Sheraton at $129/night.
Sorry for the misinformation!
We ended up using the PRICELINE link and booking Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek! Thanks for all of your assistance!
We will be in NYC on 8/11 and 8/12 and will be traveling with our 16 yr old. First, even though it asked for childrens' ages up through 17, would I be better off putting in 3 adults to ensure that we have ample room?
Secondly, 2 - 3* properties come up:
Times Sq-Theatre District $169. Amenities are:
Smoke Free Rooms
Restaurant(s)
Business Center
High-speed Internet Access
4* Trip Advisor
3* MSG-Chelsea $199 Amenities are:
Complimentary Breakfast
Smoke Free Rooms
Fitness Center
High-speed Internet Access
4* Trip Advisor
Any thoughts on either (or both) of these properties?
We initially bid $110 (following lead of another poster) and our bid got turned down. Changed parameters (added Chelsea) and upped the bid to $120 and it was accepted - Millenium Hilton. This is obviously a tremendous deal. We've stayed her a number of times and really enjoy the hotel.
Bid was made through PRICELINE link on this site!
Hotwire has a 4 star North Ft. Lauderdale @$115/night
Amenities are:
Smoke Free Rooms
Fitness Center

Business Center
High-speed Internet Access
Trip Advisor 3 1/2*
Any thoughts?
I needed 2 rooms for 2/3 - 2/4 and checked 3 1/2* on Hotwire and the best price was $89. Using the BB PRICELINE link, I offered $75 on Priceline and the bid was accepted for Boston Park Plaza. This is an excellent deal!
This is so intrigued me...so I did a bit more investigating and think I have found a possible answer: Hacienda Vista Real Golf & Spa Hotel. It's 3 1/2* on TA and it has suites. Additionally, it is available on a number of booking websites for $58/night, rendering the Hotwire offering moot.

For the time being, my "plan B" is to wait for a bit to book. Candidly, having traveled to PDC so many times, I would be somewhat afraid to book a 3 1/2* property without having some indication as to what it might be. The quality range of hotels there is rather vast and given the bargains that are out there right now, I think we're just going to wait to see what pops up.
Bumping up this thread - anyone have any ideas?
any thoughts about the 3 1/2* Playa del Carmen?

Just booked Sheraton Suites for $76 a night (3/20 - 3/26)! Absolutely unbelievable, considering that for the past several years, their nightly rate was in the vicinity of $250 a night. Definitely a sign of the times....
Thanks for your help (and, of course, I booked it through the HOTWIRE link here).

Are we thinking Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek? That seems to be the only 3* listed in that zone.
