  1. Used the PRICELINE link, first bid of $62 was accepted. I had searched the forum and found two wins for this property for as low as $56 around this time last year. I knew I could have gone lower than $62 but since I need the room for tomorrow I wanted to make sure I win it on my first try. Love this forum. Thanks!
  2. Hilton Los Angeles North/Glendale And Executive Meeting Ctr My first bid of $56 for a 4* was rejected and I declined the counter-offer of $71. I added the North Hollywood - Studio City zone and increased the bid to $60 but was rejected with no counter-offer. Another poster reported a winning bid of $65 for a 4* in this zone just one week ago, so I added the Van Nuys - Mission Hills zone and submitted my final bid of $65. It was accepted as I expected. Used the PRICELINE link this time instead of the iPhone app like I did last week for the win at Redondo Beach.
  3. I copied and pasted the title from another win for the same property and changed the price and dates. Not sure what happened to the dates. Maybe the title was truncated? Anyway, I'm composing this message from my room. The stay is for one night, 7/23 - 7/24.
  4. First bid of $56 for 3* accepted and upgraded to 3.5* Crowne Plaza. I was trying for Residence Inn and forgot about the upgrade which is really a downgrade after adding in parking. Total price was $71.41.
  5. Used the PRICELINE link to start my bidding. Opening bid of $45 for 4* in the Rancho Cordova zone was rejected. I was offered a second chance if I increase my bid by $10 but I declined and instead added the Folsom zone which I knew had no 4* properties and increased my bid by $3. Total price, including fees and taxes was $62.12.
  6. Based on the intel from this board, I won Crowne Plaza Redondo Beach on the first bid for $46. Total charges are $59.87. Thanks, everyone! Of course, I used the PRICELINE link.
  7. Thanks for the info. Based on this Priceline Los Angeles thread, I was able to buy a room at the same price for Jun 27 (tonight). First bid $50 2.5* Redondo-Manhattan Beach --> rejected Second bid $52 2.5* Redondo-Manhattan Beach & Santa Monica - Marina Del Rey --> rejected Third bid $53 2.5* Redondo-Manhattan Beach & Santa Monica - Marina Del Rey & Lawndale --> accepted and upgraded to 3*. I almost paid $69 on HOTWIRE for a room at this same hotel before I came to my sense and checked this board. Thanks again everyone! Of course, I used the PRICELINE link to begin my purchase.
  8. Based on the winning bid for the same weekend from a recent post, my first bid of $57 for a 4-star property in the SFO zone was accepted. Total price was $72.62 including taxes and fees. I used the PRICELINE link to start my bidding. Thanks!
  9. FYI...Hilton is sold out because of a large conference (8,000+ people) from Sunday, 4/13 - Wednesday 4/16. I know this because I'll be attending and Hilton is one of the two hotels where some of the conference workshops will be held. Hope this info helps!
  10. The amenities for the 3* hotel match the Crowne Plaza where I've stayed on two separate occasions recently. Be advised there is a $12 daily parking fee, but $12 is reasonable compared to the other LAX hotels.
  11. Sorry about that. Date was 6/16/07 and price before taxes was $49. Thanks!
  12. Doubletree Club Santa Ana-Orange County Airport 7 Hutton Centre Drive Santa Ana, CA 92707 (714) 751-2400 Total cost: $61 Amenities: Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center. A great bargain. Clean, comfortable room (looks new) and complimentary parking!
