  1. I search NYC->HHH @ priceline.com a ) The grid is at the top b ) Below that is "Flight + Car for less than the price of a Flight" Newark, NJ (EWR) → Savannah, GA (SAV) [Yesterday it was LGA - SAV] Fly anytime between 6am and 10pm. Economy car from Avis, Alamo, Budget, Hertz, or National. The price has also raised to $469 total $542 Per Person (one person) c ) Below this are flights with airlines, flight times, etc (to/from HHH)
  2. I know Delta used to be very prevalent on Priceline, wondering if this info helps me discern my bid.. Cheapest flight: LGA-SAV-LGA DL $288 total $309 Blind offer: LGA-SAV-LGA Flight + Car for less than the price of a Flight Anytime between 6am-10pm Non-Stop Jet Aircraft $338 total $397 Per Person (single traveler) Do those things help with odds and where my bid price should be?
  3. Yep, used the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links for bidding.
  4. Bid up to $41 for a 2 1/2 on PRICELINE, then settled for $44 on HOTWIRE's 2 1/2 star (which I thought was the Country Inn & Suites). The Hotwire win was for the La Quinta Ocala Inn and Suites (which I think is a 2* on Priceline). Best rate for the same dates are $76.50 USD + tax. La Quinta Inn & Suites Ocala 3530 S.W. 36th Ave. Ocala, FL 34474 Phone: (352) 861-1137 www.lq.com/lq/properties/propertyProfile.do?ident=LQ988&propId=988 This Hotel features the following amenities: Complimentary Breakfast <amenity names only please... not descriptions> Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. 5. Posted rates for those dates: USD 369.00 + tax (Thurs) USD 329.00 + tax (Fri & Sat) [Please edit original post with area, hotel & dates (dates should be below in the gray)]
  6. Yep, the Tribeca Grand is easily in walking distance to shops and not too far from the subways
  7. Good win, did they give you the option to add days to your Priceline win at the you
  8. The Millenium Hilton the best Hilton in New York, easily the best hotel downtown and the with best staff. Everything is new since 2002, and it is close to the major subway lines. I and others have stayed there and we haven't experienced much of a noise issue (yes you can hear it, but it's hardly even close to overwhelming). You can also request a room facing east (away from ground zero).
  9. $150 was my max for pl, as I have a rate of $200/night and the value of points and status is worth ~$50 (and priceline adds about $7 to each bid, so I really shouldn't have bid above 146/night)
  10. The original post is from Apr 2 2008, 11:26 PM The win is from Apr 19 2008 My bidding was on April 19 & 20, up to $150
  11. Yes, I was bidding on the exact same two nights.
  12. bid up to 150 through Sunday and no wins - looks like 155 might be the floor
  13. This is for the night of Cinci's Riverfest I had the Hyatt booked for $83/night (97 with tax) before they recently increased their rates, so when you tack on the Priceline fee, I had to get a really good deal to be better than that. I was hoping for a 4* as that would be the Hilton (former Omni) Netherland or Westin, but was only willing to go up to $65 + 15 for priceline brought me to a savings of just $17. I bid $65 three days in a row, each taking a really long time - making me think I was pretty close to the right number, but not using pricline to break even. Finally today I decided I could do the Millennium if I could get it for $40 (it was on Hotwire for $52). After the $65 for a 4* failed, I tried again scaling down to a 3* and $40, and it flipped to a winning bid almost instantaneously (maybe I could have done better?)
  14. This is the third day of bidding, the past two were between $120-$140, all rejected, no counter offers Today Bid $135/night DT/SoHo only Countered with $22 higher, rejected counter Tried MTW at $135, 138, 140, all rejected (by adding UWS, UES) Back to DT/SoHo Tried $140 & 145 rejected (adding UWS, UES). Then added MTW & tried $147 [figured the counter was 22, so they'd probably take an increase of half ($11), but added an extra buck/night] - won Millenium Hilton
