  1. We have a booking for July 2nd - July 7th. I called Hotwire this morning and they offered to credit the money back to my credit card, or book us in a higher category (Doubletree was 3 1/2*'s, so 4*'s or higher) hotel in the area of my choice and use Hotwire dollars to make up the difference between what we originally paid and the Hotwire rate at the selected hotel. I chose Downtown/SoHo and the Empire State Building areas (there are no 4*'s in Chelsea) as I like the Hotwire hotels in those neighborhoods. Nothing was available Downtown, but we were able to secure Morgans New York in the Empire State Building area. We prefer boutique hotels, like this location, and breakfast is included with our stay. I feel like we received a great deal for $99 a night, and Hotwire did a nice job of making the situation right. FYI...they offered up the Crowne Plaza from the start. We're seasoned visitors to NYC and don't prefer staying in Times Square.
  2. Booked July 2nd - July 6th using the HOTWIRE link and once again received the Doubletree Chelsea.
  3. Used the HOTWIRE link and won the Doubletree, which is the hotel I desired and the area I wanted. I will book 7/2 - 7/6 (using the HOTWIRE link) now that I know for certain that this is the hotel. I called the hotel direct earlier today and was informed that they will do a "soft" opening in April and are accepting reservation for May 1st and beyond. 4. I called the hotel direct and was informed that they will do a "soft" opening in April. They are accepting reservations for May 1st and beyond. I might try to secure this. If I do, I'll use the HOTWIRE link and share the outcome.
  5. Ok, we just received a call from a friend in NYC and they offered us their condo in Midtown as they will be in Tuscany for the month of July. Cancel my request for information and many thanks...
  6. First of all, hello and cool website! We'll be visiting NYC July 4th through July 9th. I'm interested in staying in the SoHo - Tribeca area. I notice that BetterBidding lists 3 4* hotels in this area - The Embassy Suites, Milenium Hilton and Tribeca Grand. When I plug my dates in Hotwire, I get a 4* in the Downtown - SoHo area for $189 a night with following features: fitness center, restaurant, business center and high speed. I'd love to stay at the Tribeca Grand. Any chance this could be it? I'm certain it's not the Embassy Suites because of the listed features. However, it could be the Millenium Hilton (nice hotel, don't want to stay again) - but no pool listed. Any ideas? Many thanks!
