  1. Wanted and expected the Renaissance. 1. Bid $42 rejected 2. Added Six Flags $48 rejected 3. Added Forest Park $52 rejected 4. Added Jonesboro $58 win. website price $139 I expect that the 4* Priceline Express Deal offered in same area for $68 was also the Renaissance, so I saved a little. 3* Express Deal in same area was over $30 more, so even tho I'll have to pay to park and possibly pay for internet, I still come out cheaper at 4* than 3* that included internet and parking By the way, I booked this hotel for its proximity to the local US Customs office where I must do an interview for the Global Entry travel process. Global Entry expedites from long lines returning from travel overseas and also helps get TSA pre-check status to expedite that process in the airports as well. Some of the premium paid credit cards (like my America PRICELINE EXPRESS Platinum) offer a complete rebate of the $100 application fee for Global Entry. That is a no-brainer for me, despite the hassle of having to go up to Atlanta for a quick interview. I got business up that way anyway and combining the interview. I believe Chase Saphire is another card that offers the $100 fee rebate.
  2. Used PRICELINE link of course. New hotel not listed on board before. This was a new property, probably 1-2 years old at the most in a convenient area close to new restaurants, movies, and shopping. Quite pleased. Price higher than normal for 2 1/2 star property, but smaller market. Ole Miss football game in area (hour away) had most closer hotels booked to capacity. List price off of website would've been $99, so still saved about 35%, less than what I normally save on priceline.
  3. a new hotel verified for this board. Ammenities Complimentary breakfast, Pool, Hi-Speed Internet Same ammenities as Holiday Inn Express previously posted on this board, so this was a surprise. Hopefully, it will be OK and at least seems more centrally located to city center and Southern Utah University. Had tried priceline.com 2 1/2 star (highest level offered) and was rejected twice at $33 and $36. Had been monitoring Hotwire and saw 3-star price drop from $51 to $46, so went ahead and booked using the board HOTWIRE link.
  4. Success on first bid and close to family function in good area with free parking. Pleased. Used PRICELINE link of course Courtyard By Marriott Executive Park Druid Hills - Emory - Decatur 1236 Executive Park Drive Atlanta, Georgia 30329
  5. Winning bid by my brother on first try last week. Wanted to post for others information. Great place, $195/night on Marriott website. Lowest winning bid I've seen on this board for Aruba resort.
  6. 3.5 star bid buckhead only $50 reject add kennesaw bid $55 reject add jonesboro bid $60 reject add morrow bid $65 accepted with 4* upgrade This is third time in a row bidding 3 1/2 star and upgrade to 4 star win. beginning to think 3 1/2 star in buckhead is same as bidding on 4 star. love the grand hyatt but dont like the $20+ parking charges that are associated with 4* used PRICELINE link of course
  7. used PRICELINE link... Bid History (today 9/12/2010 only): bid for 2 nights 9/13/2010 to 9/15/2010 3.5 star buckhead $39...rejected (was trying for possible 3.5 at newly renovated Marriott across from Lenox--formerly Sheraton) added druid hills $41...rejected (this is most likely the Marriott Century Center-which is very nice at this bid price) added perimeter $43...rejected added midtown $45...rejected Note: all acceptable areas to me for buckhead business changed to 1 night only 9/13/2010 to 9/14/2010 3.5 star buckhead $47...rejected added druid hills $50...rejected added perimeter and dropped bid price to $48 (in line with what Hotwire was offering on same date)...accepted with upgrade to 4* Westin pleased with this as last time at this Westin property was able to park for free was offered extended stay option (which was what I was hoping, but got rejected for second night at Westin) if I choose to stay in ATL another night, I'll start bidding again prob Tues afternoon 9/14/2010
  8. used PRICELINE link of course Tried $46 Perimeter only, rejected with PRICELINE rebid offer guarantee acceptance of $59...which I rejected! Added Buckhead and rebid $51...accepted. have stayed at this W before, only negative was $15 parking fee add-on, but less than the typical Buckhead 4-star property parking add-ons.
  9. was hoping for Hyatt Place for free internet and parking got Doubletree on first bid and pleased with hotel, but hope to find better parking situation
  10. tried $40 3* North Gwinnett (hoping for Mall of Georgia area which would've been a first for this forum)...rejected Hotwire had price in similar area of $75 or so added Gwinnett-Duluth as fallback (about 10 miles back toward Atlanta on interstate) knowing I'd probably get Hyatt Place and lowered bid to $38...accepted used PRICELINE link as always
  11. first bid accepted. Used betterbidding PRICELINE link to start bidding Sofitel Minneapolis 5601 West 78th Street Minneapolis, Minnesota 55439 Your Offer Price: $45.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $90.00 Taxes and Fees: $19.76 Total Charges*: $109.76
  12. bid $48 4* Perimeter only...rejected added Midtown 4* bid $53 ...accepted Noted ahead of time that Hotwire had a 4* Atlanta Perimeter available for $53, which was my backup plan and possibly the same W Hotel. As usual used the PRICELINE link on betterbidding.com
  13. posting older winning bids this is from last year night before Thanksgiving
  14. posting older winning bids. Parking was about $20/night additional. Great hotel and location near upscale restaurants and shopping. Summertime is a steal for 4* Buckhead hotels as conference bookings are slow b/c of Georgia heat. Any 4* Buckhead hotel would be terrific under $100..., but can be had for as low as $66 on slow nights...
  15. posting older winning bids. Nice hotel. Great price, but self-parking was about $25/night (including taxes) additional.
  16. Adding older priceline winning bids. Labor Day weekend. Great New Upscale Hotel. Walking distance to PATH train to Manhattan. Far-exceeded my expectations.
  17. 3.5* only. 2 rooms 2 nights Oklahoma State football weekend vs. Texas which we will be attending about 50 miles away in Stillwater started at $50 rejected. added Edmond and re-bid $57 rejected added Quail Springs and re-bid $65 rejected added Frontier City and re-bid $72 accepted This was the hotel that I was shooting for and hoping to get and is NOT the Oklahoma City Marriott, but appears to be a newer property. Marriott website had 14-day advance purchase non-refund price of $93/night, so only saved 23%, but still happy As usual, used the PRICELINE link on betterbidding.
  18. Used PRICELINE LINK to start purchase. Relied on previous posts and just bid $41 like the others. Didn't matter to me if I got the Trenton Marriott or the Princeton Hyatt Regency. Either would have been great deal for $41 as I'm spending a day between New York and Philly sightseeing between Yankees and Phillies home games.
  19. Room Cost (per night): $65.00 (USD) Room Subtotal: $130.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $28.43 (USD) Total Room Cost: $158.43 (USD) Booked through the betterbidding.com PRICELINE link above. Hotwire offered a 3.5* the same dates and similar location for $75. Since it has been my experience often that Hotwire is offering a fixed rate for most likely the same hotel, I find that I can bid a little less on PRICELINE for what is a good chance going to be the same hotel. I specifically wanted this particular hotel since I will be going to the Giants-Jets NFL exhibition game across the freeway. The Sheraton website had an advance non-refundable booking price of $114/night. The Priceline and Hotwire forums on BetterBidding.com gave me confidence that I was going to get this hotel anyway and I did!! The other 3* and above possibilities on both Priceline and Hotwire in that particular area seemed acceptable to me, if I ended up being wrong, but at least for now I couldn't be any more pleased. Free parking at hotel and apparently only a $6 round trip shuttle to the stadium direct from the hotel. Thanks.
  20. Customer Favorite Amenities: Comp Breakfast, Fitness, Pool, Business, Internet $63 a night. Used the HOTWIRE link. This was the hotel I wanted for the price point and was happy to get it as it includes free parking and free wi-fi internet unlike the other 4* Buckhead hotels I've gotten in the past
  21. The date of my stay was one night Thursday 7/12/2007 checking out 7/13/2007
