  1. I wasn't successful with my bidding months ago, but now 50 days away from the cruise, it's time to start looking again. As you explained earlier for a pre-cruise hotel, besides Downtown, the airport is also another good location. Can you please advise if you are referring to the zone Airport North or just Airport? (or does it matter) I am just hoping to get something the most convenient, also keeping in mind we arrive around 7-ish the evening before and still have to stop and pick up a few things for the cruise. We are hoping for an area that would have some shopping around, if only limited.

    Thank you.

  2. Thank you.

We need a hotel for one night on Sunday, February 24th, 2013, and are hoping to get something for $60 or under in a 3.5 or 4*. It seems realistic as to what I've seen posted on the boards. Any further direction would be appreciated.

Actually, we would be good with a 3* too, as I just checked the Pre Cruise Hotels Hotel site and the hotels listed in this rating are more than adequate for our needs.

  3. I have been trying for the past couple of months to secure two rooms in the Cape Canveral area for a pre-cruise (two nights) on February 24th, 2012. I am up to $70 with no success. We would be fine with either a 2.5* or a 3*.

Can you offer any suggestions that might be helpful?

    Thanks!

  4. I know Priceline requests an age at time of bidding, but do you know if there is an additional charge for drivers 21 years of age? If we have a successful bid, I just don't want my daughter to have any surprises, (extra costs) at the airport.

Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  5. Thank you for your reponse.

The best rate I have found through other booking channels is a 3.5* in Pudong for $49.83 CDN (actually now thinking about it, probably the best rate I am going to get), but I always try to use PRICELINE to see what is available there. I noted 4* on Priceline going for $58 so thought it was worth a try. I was hoping to pay no more than $50 a night.

    Again, your thoughts please.

  6. I can't find a lot of bidding history on 3* hotels in Shanghai. I require a room for 13 nights (June 8th to 21st) and can only stay in Huangpu or Pudong. Can you please offer some advice as to what I should bid? I would be fine with a 3* as I am trying to keep the cost down considering the amount of time I require a room.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  7. Your good luck on this one finally paid off!

    Your Offer Price: $55.00

    Number of Rooms: 1

    Number of Nights: 1

    Subtotal: $55.00

    Taxes and Fees: $14.90

    Total Charges*: $69.90

Kept to your bidding strategy as noted above and got bumped up to a 4* - Hyatt Regency. Extremely pleased and relieved at this point as this was the final thing to settle for our upcoming vacation. Again it was for one night checking in on October 31st.

Special thanks for all your help and patience.

And yes, I did use the PRICELINE link for my bid!

  8. Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.

If you go back to HOTWIRE and click the CONTINUE button next to these offerings and then click the "See all amenities" link under the icons, do you see more amenities than what you've listed above?

Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.

My apologies for posting on the Hotwire thread - I thought I had to do that.

Yes for the 3 1/2* Condo it also states tennis nearby and kitchenette.

For the 3* in addition to what I noted states golf nearby, tennis nearby and kitchenette.

In the meantime, I will still try bidding nightly for the 3 1/2* as you suggested above, but soon what to make some concrete decision. To date, I have not been successful bidding up to the $80 max on the 3 1/2*.

    Thank you.

  9. I am down to a month to our cruise and haven't had any success on PRICELINE, so am looking at all avenues including HOTWIRE.

Can you please help identify these two downtown Miami properties?

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Well I have tried continually throughout the month bidding as you suggested up to $80 with no success. Maybe it's time to try for a 3* or 3.5* as my cruise is just over a month away. The only other alternative I see at this point is HOTWIRE.

    Suggestions please, and thank you!
