We were in Pittsburgh for an event in the Cultural District and chose to Priceline the Renaissance. The Renaissance is located on Sixth Avenue near the Roberto Clemente Bridge. It's an excellent place to stay if you are planning to attend an event at PNC Park or in the Cultural District. We parked across the street at a city parking garage. We paid $5 for overnight and an additional $7.50 for the following morning. Check in was quick and painless. There were two customers ahead of me, and they were taken care of promptly. With my reservation, it took less than a minute to check in. We were asked if we'd like to use the gym facilities at the Bally's next door. We declined and were assigned a room on the seventh floor. The lobby was beautiful, there was a piano player in the lobby, as well as a wine bar. The room itself was comfortable, if a bit on the small size. Wireless was not available in the room, however an ethernet connection was. Access cost $10 per day. For those without a laptop, WebTV was offered for the same price. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and we had a pleasant surprise in that the alarm clock was an iPod dock. The bathroom was clean and a nice size. There was no thermostat/control in our room. Our view was not particularly spectacular, our room was on the side of the hotel. We could see the Allegheny River, a bit of the Convention Center, but mostly the building next door. We were within walking distance of Heinz Hall, the Benedum, the O'Reilly, and the Byham Theaters - really they were all just steps or a block away. I'd recommend this hotel. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Exactly what we were looking for.
