I have been using Better Bidding for the past two months in an attempt to buy a room for Saturday, May 14 to Monday, May 16. My wife and daughter are going there for their yearly Bay to Breakers run. I have never had trouble booking a 4* through Priceline for under $100. I just finished my bidding. I went up to four zones and from 4* down to 3*. I maxed out at $200 on a 4*. Nothing. My usual hotels are booked up. I have check Hotwire and both weekends before and after May 14 shows some great deals. My weekend doesn't. Any idea what is up? TIA

The 2011 Porsche Rennsport Reunion IV will be held this weekend at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey. I am happy to get this booked early and I am comfortable with the price. I booked through BetterBidding. Thanks.

Try $250 for a four star in CPS. I just won on priceline the Marriott Renaissance Hotel 57 for that price the week after you're looking at. However, the room will have a double bed so it will be a tab tight. Take a look at there site. Good luck.

Man is NY Manhattan Area costly at this time of year. :) I watched, read and placed bids for the last 4 weeks. I finally upped my bid price to get the Marriott Renaissance Hotel 57 after seeing a posting here. I saved $780 by using PRICELINE vs. going directly through their web site. The room will have a double bed so it will be a tab tight. That's OK, I knew it going into the bid.

This is the exact deal and hotel I booked last year for the Bay to Breakers race weekend.

Tried this for May and it was a no go. Perhaps I am a little early.

I offered Priceline $130 for a four night stay in a 4* hotel in August in downtown Boston. It came back telling me for an additional $22 ($152) they could get me a hotel.

Also, any idea which hotel it would be. TIA
