  1. Been bidding for a couple of days on 3* in Charlotte South Park, DT and expanded to Pineville as everything has been full.

Bid $50 and offered rebid of $15

I added South Park and upped to $52 and offered rebid

I added Downtown and upped to $55 and accepted.

    Subtotal: $55.00

    Taxes & Fees: $16.34

    Total Charges*: $71.34

On Starwoods the price is USD 99.00+ charges & taxes= USD 115.09

Used the PRICELINE link to start bidding.

  2. Decided to take the risk & bid blindly in Argentina - no prior history available. Hopefully, this helps others.

Bid daily beginning at $65 with $5 increments until I reached $90.

Landed the Imperial Park @ $90

The hotel's website shows $95 for lowest rate so I basically saved $15 when compared to hotel site after fee/taxes.

Reviews on TA show mostly good with highlights of small accommodations and noisy exterior.

  3. Hi there. My first post.

I am travelling to New York for the first time and would like to know about travel from Newark airport to Manhattan area. I know there are several options available but what i would really want to know is if my flight is scheduled to arrive at 2pm will i have enough time to get to a Yankees game that same night? (7:05 start) I'm sure this would be possible but just dont know how fast things move there (ie: baggage claim, travel to hotel (yet to be determined - booking priceline soon), checkin and travel to the stadium. Would like to be there to see Monument Park before the game. Am i taking too much of a risk getting tickets the same day? Thanks for all the info here. Will be sure to use the links when booking.

Newark to Manhattan will take you about 30 minutes. You have multiple options available:

. You can take a direct bus OlympiaTrails - this can take longer depending on traffic it encounters but at 2pm you should be fine and they can drop you off on the East side or West side. They have a representative outside of each terminal at ground transportation.

. You can take the train - NJ Transit which is about a 25 minute ride and puts you at NY Penn Station (31st & Penn Station).

DO NOT take a cab as you will spend at minimum $55 bucks for a trip that would cost $12 via above methods - unless you have too much luggage or have kids.

Now, to get from midtown Manhattan to Yankee stadium takes about 40 minutes via subway either the C,D or 4 train so you have a ton of time available to you.

Regardng, tickets - I can't give advice but you are sure to find a scalper outside the stadium if it is a sold-out event.

NYC is a fun and welcoming place but everyone is usually in a rush - so don't be intimated to simply ask someone how to get to point a or b as most are helpful but get into tunnel vision.

    NJTransit.com - train service

mta.info - subway to the stadium
