  1. Currently the Airport TPA - Westshore area is the only one within Tampa with 4* properties, so I worked my way up to my winning bid by selecting any other category to take advantage of my free re-bids. In hindsight, I may have gone up in $5 increments instead of $10 since I had more areas I could have used. Cie la vie! Happy with this price for a 4* property. Used your PRICELINE link. First bid: $55 REJECTED Second bid: $65 REJECTED Third bid: $75 WON TOTAL: $177.69 5/1/09 for 2 nights/2 people Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $75.00 Subtotal: $150.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $27.69 Total Charges*: $177.69
  2. I stayed there August 07 and really enjoyed it. Granted, I live in Nashville so we have Gaylord Opryland in our backyard so I wasn't overwhelmed with the hugeness of the place, but it's still a nice facility. The food on the grounds is overpriced so bring snacks (especially if you have kids). I stayed at the adult-only pool but the waterslide looked fun for kids (not huge, but better than no slide). I wanted to mention the Fitness center (which is attached to the spa). They offered fitness classes so one morning I decided to go while my husband was in a meeting. I was the only one who showed up so I basically got a 1 on 1 personal training session for around $10. The trainer was so helpful and sincere and gave me handouts and things to work on with nutrition and different exercises. I can't say enough good things about that aspect of my stay.
  3. SUCCESS! Using the free re-bid technique and using www.SavingsBarn.com, I added the Sand Lake area that does not have 3* hotels. My next bid of $41 was accepted for 3* Sheraton Studio City. Thanks - what a fantastic site!!!
  4. I did see that, but since I have several months, I figure I'll just wait the 24 hours before rebidding. Thanks!
  5. 8/17/07 - 8/20/07 BID THROUGH WWW.SAVINGSBARN.COM 3* (hoping for Crowne Plaza) 1st bid = $40 (REJECTED) 2.5* (hoping for AmeriSuites) 1st bid = $36 (REJECTED) QUESTION: Let's say I bid $36 again next week for the 2.5*....is there a chance I might get it even though that rate was rejected the first time?
  6. Ah, ok! I think I'll give that a try. Do you guys have a link for Priceline so you get credit?
  7. Thanks, thereuare & runNgun I don't have a particular hotel in mind. I'm new to the Priceline "name your price" idea but would give it a shot. I am not familiar with Orlando and I'm looking for a room for my husband and me. We are planning on spending a day in Cocoa Beach (driving to and from in a day) and a day at TBD park. He has a conference at Gaylord Palms the following week so we just need a room to tide us over on the weekend. We aren't hotel snobs by any means but I require clean sheets and a safe area and would prefer to spend under $60/night. Any recommendations would be fantastic. Thanks to all!
  8. Any ideas? My googling of "Universal Orlando 3 star $74.25" led me to the Clarion which had mixed reviews. No idea if I'm right, though! 8/17/07 - 8/20/07 2 adults "This midscale establishment offers more than just the basics in style, comfort and customer service." $45 retail = $74.25 Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Business Center High-Speed Internet Access
