  1. Thanks. I think this hotel is the Metropole Suites, which looks to have been moved from 4 to 3.5*. I've decided to book something else in the meantime.
  2. Dates: April 9-12 Amenities: Suite, Near Beach, Fully-equipped Kitchen, Airport Shuttle, Daily Housekeeping, Air-Conditioning, 24-hour Front Desk, High-Speed Internet Access, Boutique Hotel, Condo Price for 2 adults + 2 children is showing at $146.
  3. Amenities: Fully-equipped Kitchen, Complimentary Breakfast, Daily Housekeeping, 24-hour Front Desk, Laundry Facilities, Kitchenette, Condo Booked for two nights. Total $217.34. Booking made on 19th January 2009.
  4. Using the free re-bid for Amsterdam North, began bidding at $67, and then upwards to $91, before succeeding at $95. marriott.com rate for the nights was $259.
  5. Multiple bids for 4* in Millennium-Loop-Grant Park and North Michigan Ave zones, using free re-bids for Lincoln Park, Skokie, and Midway. Began bidding at $68. After 19 bids in total, struck lucky at $100. Rate at Burnham hotel website was $379 per night.
  6. Used free re-bids starting at $78. The minimum winning bid for that night is somewhere between $97 and $101. Hotel website rate for that night is $279.
  7. Amenities: Airport Shuttle, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access.
  8. Amenities: Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby
  9. For 07/06/2008 to 07/11/2008. Bidding over two days for all multiple combinations of NMA and MP/Loop, with Midway as free re-bid (so 5 bids per day in total). Began at $84 and eventually successful at $114 (after previous failed bid of $110, so lowest win rate is somewhere between $111 and $114). Price for those dates on IC hotels website was $269. Same hotel (I think) on Hotwire for those dates was $123 per day plus taxes and fees.
  10. Yes, I agree the risk factor doesn't justify the savings I'd make. I've booked a cancel-able room at the Coventry Motor Inn for $96. Many thanks for all your help.
  11. Thanks for the reply. Yes, I'd prefer Lombard as I prefer to stay in Marina, Cow Hollow, Pacific Heights etc rather than downtown. Free parking is a bonus too. I'll be staying with my wife and two kids, so that probably rules out Priceline because I don't want to risk being denied a suitable room. I'm afraid the dates I posted above were wrong - it's 14-16 August I'm after.
  12. I'd add that: - the 2* property in Lombard is now at a rate of $94 - there's also a 2.5* Lombard hotel (pool, restaurant and tennis) for $103
  13. The following appear for those dates: Lombard zone: 2* shuttle, restaurant, tennis, $85 1* no amenities, $96 Nob Hill: 1* no amenities, $74 I've tried looking at the pinned hotel list, and Hotwire vacation packages, but neither give any clue. Previous post on this (here, and here, for example) are inconclusive. Any help appreciated.
