  1. After using the PRICELINE link provided here I tried to book a 3.5 star at DTW for $40. This bid was rejected and a counter offer of $59 was presented. I waited a day and rebid in same zone for same date @ $49 and the bid was accepted. This was for May 21 for one night and I received the Detroit Airport Marriott.
  2. Just wanted to update this. I ended up booking this and indeed you were correct it is the Holiday Inn Vacation Club @ Orange Lake. I wrote to Hotwire after to inquire how a property that is listed by them, their parent company Expedia and trip advisor (who they advertise on their site) as a 3.5 star property could be awarded as a 4 star property. They replied saying they take the average of Expedia, Travelocity and Orbitz (the latter 2 who rate it 4 stars on their sites) Anyway thanks for your help.
  3. Thanks for the advice, I was a little worried that might be the case. I am not sure it is, as on normal HOTWIRE purchase the Holiday Inn is still listed as 3.5 stars but you never know. Since we are still so far out I will hold off for now and keep this thread updated with my result.
  4. Sorry yes, it then shows, golf nearby, and high speed internet in addition to those previously mentioned
  5. Hi There, After going to Hotwire through link provided here I have found a property of interest in Orlando but was hoping to narrow down which property it is. It is a 4 star property, located in the Disney Maingate/Celebration area. It is for travel Sept 30 - Oct 3 2010 It has the following listed amenities Condo, resort, studio, fitness, pool, restaurant, business, laundry It is listed for $64 per night. My best guess based on my own research would be Caribe Cove, but would certainly love a professional opinion
  6. After using PRICELINE link through site booked *3 in Orlando Universal Zone for June 25-26, 2009 for $40. Bid was accepted for Hyatt Place Convention Center.
  7. Have just found out why the "Ritz" is listed as a 3.5 Star. Ritz Carlton sold the property in January of this year, it is no longer actually a Ritz (the buyers were apparently allowed to call it Ritz Carlton, just not THE Ritz Carlton). This is of course very disappointing, but hopefully some service standard will be kept. I'll report on it when I get back in July.
  8. Using SavingsBarn.com link worked my way up from $70 to $85 for 4* Downtown Toronto for May 18-20. Final outcome $85 per night for Le Royal Meridien King Edward.
  9. Sutton Place is definitely in the West zone, it appears Yonge St seperates the East from West zones, and Sutton Place is West of Yonge. (this doesn't really help identifying property, but just thought I would answer that question)
  10. Used link on site here through hotwire for July 13-15 for $72 US a night, 3.5 Star Downtown Montreal with following amenities; Fitness, Restaurant, Business Centre, Hi-Speed Internet Property turned out to be Ritz Carlton Montreal.
  11. I recently booked a 3.5 star through Hotwire with these amenities for July 13-15. It wound up being the Ritz Carlton (it was $72 US per night) I of course used the HOTWIRE link provided. Hope this helps, Montreal is a great city enjoy.
  12. Marriott does not have a shuttle bus that I know of. I usually take the train to Montreal, since it is downtown to downtown, and usually cheaper than flying. Flat rate from Airport to Downtown was $31 in taxi. (we use the Metro or walk to get around) There are private area buses that are cheaper, but a pain IMO
  13. Have stayed at the Marriott Chateau Champlain. Awesome for attending Habs games, still decent enough without. (it is starting to be in need of a little reno work, or at least was when I was there in March for the Leafs/Habs game) Right near the train station, just a few blocks from Peel and St Catherine. It is getting a little old, but $80 is a good deal, on the Marriott Website it is $220. I think I may follow your lead here, and bid on that. Thanks for the info, I will use the link from here. Oh and yes, I got the $11 deal, if not for the damn taxes would have been an even better deal. Have fun!!
  14. Funny enough, my dates of stay are actually exactly the same, July 13-15 (our 5th Wedding Anniversary that weekend) The Under 20 World Cup of Soccer has a game in Montreal that weekend, as well as a Reggae Music Festival so that may be contributing to the more difficult bidding. (got a great deal on a flight though, so half way happy) Slay let me know how you make out, I have booked a room at another property (as a backup) but if can get 4 star under $100 will be taking that route.
  15. I am getting the same message (bidding on a 4 star property, my bid was $92, I started at $85 two days ago) and Hotwire has a four star (I believe to be Omni Mont Royal for $114, which equates to the same price 92+22) So basically they are offering a 4 star for the same price. Summer is busy in Montreal, so I think the inventory for Priceline and Hotwire is fairly slim.
