  1. We're not driving so parking isn't an issue. And no, it is not worth $210 for that short night, but it is worth $79, which is what I would like to pay on average for all 4 nights. Again, if that doesn't work out, we'll keep our HC reservation at $79/night and get a PL room by the airport that first night, but not having the the hassle of changing hotels the enxt morning (and fighting traffic to get there) is worth more than the $40-50 difference. Our time is somewhat limited - we really only that day and the next to see SFO as we will be on a boat the entire 3rd day.
  2. My hope is to get something for 4 nights for around the same nightly fee that I have reserved at the Harbour Court....so around $79 x 4, though I would go a little higher if that's not realistic (I thought it would be considering what HC is charging). I would prefer Ebarcadero/financial dist, but Union Sq E looks like it would work also. I've never been to SFO but from what I understand those areas would be very convenient considering we have such a short time to see what we can of a city that has so much. From what I can see both areas have plenty of 4* options, though honestly I prefer funky boutique hotels over corporate/business class mega hotels.
  3. I have a reservation for $79/night @ the Harbour Court ($273 incl tax), but it's only for 5/7-5/10. 5/6 is at $210 there right now but I'm not going to pay that considering our flight doesn't get in until after 11 that night. The HC is a good deal, but it would be nice to stay in the same place the whole trip. Hotwire is showing (for the 4 nights): 3* @ $119 4.5 @ $129 3.5 @ $149 I'm looking to find something at least similar to the HC at around that price preferably in the Financial - Embarcardero area (Union Sq considered). It it doesn't work out, we'll use PL and get a room near SFO the first night. where should I start? Links used for my searches, if that helps! Thanks for your help!
  4. There is only one zone. There's is pretty much nothing - not even a gas station - for about 100 miles to the east and at least that to the west. Grand Jct, CO, the city to the east, is hosting several events around this time, and is at about $140-160 for a basic room. Moab is 50 miles to the south, and I think Green River basically just serves as a starting out point and overflow for people headed there and interstate travelers passing thru. There are quite a few of old-school motels there that aren't listed on travel sites, so I think we're just going to wing it and try for one of those. thanks for your help! You've assisted me in the past with other stays and it's always very much appreciated!
  5. Bid at $40 & $45 - both were rejected. I had some timing issues so that's all I've done. However, we've decided that we're not willing to pay more than $50 for the convenience of driving 1/2 way to our destination, so now I'm thinking we'll go down to 1* and shoot for a Rodeway Inn. It's just for one night and it's in the middle of nowhere, Utah - how bad can it be? Rodeway lists at $50 on the Choice site - Should I start at $25 or $30? My time is limited = we hope to leave about 20 hours from now. support page links followed - except on re-bid at work..... :)
  6. OK, I rsvd the CI at $86.40 including taxes, which were just under $10. PL's bid price doesn't include that (I think), so my max should be $69....right?
  7. I've used PL with success in big cites, but what can expect for a small town like Green River, UT? I will likely be passing through there next Tues. and was wondering how effective using PL would be in such a place. PL list 1 & 2* there. Comfort Inn (usually my generic chain of choice) is 76.50 w/AAA disc and says only 1 room left on their site. Holiday inn is at $89. Should I even bother, and where should I start out with bidding?
