1. Went ahead and bid on Price.Line (thru your link). Accepted at $105 + -- total $135. 2 conflicting notes on the "Summary of Charges": There are no hotel fees at this hotel. Hooray! The hotel fee is charged by the property at check-in.
2. PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals has "4 Star Hotel Madison Square Garden - Convention Area" for $104+ / "Guest Rating 7+ Good" ID guess? Thanks!
3. Forgot to add that PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals was offering $129 for what I'd guess was the same hotel. Bidding saved ~$18 over the Express Deal in total cost. Oh, and I did use your PRICELINE link.
4. Bid today in $5 increments, using free rebids (zones 1/5/6/7). Started at $100, PL offered to try $136 every other time.
5. Must be something going on in town for this period -- this seems high. Bid in Downtown, Downtown/WH & Chinatown/Convention Center on all bids, using free rebids in $2 increments. Used your PRICELINE link, of course.
6. It's obviously a quiet weekend for this hotel -- this was my first bid. I hate it when that happens... I should have known, though -- it came up on HOTWIRE for $70 (but odd that it didn't show up on PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals at all) Bid through the BB PRICELINE link, of course. Thanks for being there!
7. Using the 7 free re-bids at 3.5*, moved up by $5 per bid from $68 'cause I was in a hurry... We're flying out on 5/14 from BWI, but something's going on the week of 5/13, so the Monday 5/13 night was expensive. So we booked a BWI airport hotel for 5/13 (for only $55. Bid through your PRICELINE link, of course. Thanks!
8. Bid up to $109 at 3.5 stars -- no good. Booked this through PL 'Express Deals' -- 4* at $120, less 10% discount with 'metro10' code. Total cost with fees/taxes was $916.30, within a dollar of a $111 bid. (Just checked Hotwire -- they had a 4* for the same total cost.) There's something happening in Chicago 5/6 on -- this hotel (Hyatt Regency) showed either $269 or not available that week, so this seems like a pretty good deal. Got to PRICELINE through your link. Thanks for being around . . .
9. Started low, just in case... Increased bids by $2. Had several offers to try $88. Bid through your PRICELINE link. Thanks for being here!
10. Started at $125, used free rebids at $5 increments. Although PL says it's a 4 star, the TripAdvisor reviews are pretty mixed. But it's a great location for us, and it's only one night... (en route from London to Barcelona) Total $166.56 with taxes and fees. Bid through your PRICELINE link.
11. Started low, bidding at 3.5*, increasing bids by $2 using free re-bids. For location, we would actually have preferred one of the 3.5* properties in the Loop proper, but the good old Hyatt came through again. We've stayed there many times, and it's always fine. Used your PRICELINE link to bid. Thanks again for being there!
12. We had to postpone this trip for medical reasons. Priceline will refund some of the cost if you give them the specifics -- doctor/hospital names, phone #s, etc. (they keep $25/day, but better than nothing...). And not related here, but Southwest credits 100% of your fare toward future trips, with additional change fees -- a prime reason we fly them whenever their prices, etc. are anywhere near competitive. I'll post a new win when I get it for our postponed trip.
13. Started at %50, increased by $2 using free re-bids. Stay in Chicago often, but not at this property yet. Great location, looking forward to seeing how this hotel is. Used the BB PRICELINE link to bid.
14. Started low, bid up in $4 increments using the many free rebids in Chicago. Seems there's a large convention going on this week, driving up the prices. But still, the best price with senior discount on the hotel's site, was $198/night... Bid through the PRICELINE link on this site -- thanks for being there!
15. We're happy to be at the Palmer House -- we've stayed there 3-4 times before. We like the hotel and its location better than the Hyatt; it just doesn't come up on PL very often...
16. Started bidding for 4* at $55, using free re-bids ($2 increments) got up to $63. Switched to 3.5*, started again at $55, Palmer House bit at $69. Unusual -- 80-90% of the time we get the Hyatt Regency; they must have an event... Used your PRICELINE link. Thanks for being here.
17. Tried Greenbelt-Hyattsville area (adjacent to the SE) first -- got to $85 at 3.5* with no luck. Restarted at 3* in College Park at $60 and got it on the first bid -- hate it when that happens! :) Should be fine -- close to I-95, with the free parking we need. They do charge $10 for Internet, but we don't need that... Bid through your PRICELINE link -- thanks for being there!
18. Started bidding at $65 / 3.5*, increasing by $3 -- bidding both Loop and NMA. Accepted by Hyatt Regency even tho they're 4*...
19. First bid! :) Fine hotel. Large outdoor pool -- very nice.
20. Started at $65, bidding in both Loop and North Mich. Ave. Great location (State & Lake) -- uber-hip hotel, but fine rooms. Used your link to bid.
21. Started at $50, bidding at 3.5*. Went up by $5/bid (I would usually go slower since there are 64[!] free rebids, but was in a hurry). Accepted at $65 at the 4* Le Pavillon. Used your PRICELINE link -- thanks for being there!
22. Started at $60, bid up by $5/bid using 4* and 3.5* options, and other zones. Accepted at $80. Best rate (AAA member) on the hotel's web site was $127. Used your PRICELINE link to bid. Thanks!
23. Checked rates at hotels' web sites. Hyatt Regency's best deal for these five days was $788/room -- $157.60/night. So I figured to start low, since there are 31 free re-bids. First bid of $50 was accepted!!! Bid through your PRICELINE link. Thanks!
