  1. I am looking (using the Better Bidding link) on Hotwire at the 3.5* in Chicago Magnificent Mile-Water Tower area All-Suites Hotel for 6/23-6/26 with 2 adults and 2 children. On the Bidding Helper, this is showing up for $225/night. I looked at the amenities and it seems to match the Hilton Suites. I need to be in that exact area. I would highly prefer to stay at the Hilton as I have Diamond status and they sometimes still extend benefits even when booking Hotwire. The amenities are: FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower Alternately, I'd be willing to stay at a hotel within a block or two of that hotel. Please let me know what you think when you get a chance. Thanks!
  2. I am looking for any hotel that is close to LAX. I will be in LA with my wife and a little kid for less than 24 hours before catching an international flight. We get in Friday night and will have a car rental. Saturday we'll probably go out for brunch or lunch then we'd like to come back to the room so the toddler can take a nap before our evening flight to New Zealand. Dates: Feb 12 - Feb 13 (one night) 2 adults and one child I think I can get 4pm checkout at SPG properties due to my status. I also have Hilton Diamond, but I don't think that guarantees late checkout. Therefore, I'm looking for any SPG hotel since we need the late checkout. I am open to Hotwire or Priceline. I don't really care which hotel it is; the cheaper the better. It doesn't have to be right next to the terminal, but close enough that I can get their in 10-20 minutes or so without having to worry about getting stuck in traffic, etc. Any help from the more seasoned would be appreciated. I've tried systematically going through the surrounding areas using bidding helper, but have been unsuccessful in finding anything that looks like an SPG hotel. Thanks!
  3. Ok, I think this is the Intercontinental New Orleans and I'm ready to book it. 4.5 stars, $79/night for 1/6-1/9 with 2 adults/2 children FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower Does this seem right for Intercontinental?
  4. I can't really figure out how to get the Renaissance Pere Marquette. It's not on the Hotwire lists for New Orleans as far as I can see on your site. Any suggestions? I feel like I really need to get something booked today. I'd rather not book directly from their site as I'd like to get some extra savings, but maybe that's the only option?
  5. Yes, I am searching for 2 adults, 2 children. If I search that way on Hotwire, does it guarantee 2 beds? Or a bed plus sofa bed? I think you're right. One of those options on the edge of French Quarter could be good. The Renaissance seems to have good reviews. Thank you for the advice. Do I look for the Renaissance in Downtown area?
  6. That helps. I used the Bidding.Helper and can now see all the amenities. 4.5 star in French Quarter - Bourbon Street FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower I think this is ROYAL SONESTA. Seems like a reasonable place to stay and I might go with this. ===== 4 star FQ - Bourbon Street FULL AMENITIES: Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower I think this is Astor Crowne Plaza. Reviews seem terrible. ===== 4 star FQ - Bourbon Street FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Suite, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Spa services I am very curious about this one. I don't see any properties listed on your site with Suite, Spa, and Free internet, so not sure what this is. However, a suite could be nice since we are traveling with kids. What do you think this property could be? ===== 4 star FQ - Mississippi River FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower Seems like it could be Le Meridien, but not a perfect match. Thoughts? We'll be in New Orleans for about 2.5 days. Might spend a half day on a visit to Baton Rouge. We will be there with a 2 year old and a 5 year old. Is it a bad idea to stay in the French Quarter? We are hoping to get a taste of New Orleans since it's our first time visiting. See some of the major sites and maybe do a couple things that are for kids. We will have a rental car as well, so I'm expecting to pay for parking too. Maybe $30/night most places I'm guessing. Thank for any help and advice!
  7. I am trying to book a 4 star or above in the French Quarter for Jan 6 to 9. It'll be 2 adults and 2 toddlers. I am a long time user of your site, but now returning after a long string of renting an apartment. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I can't seem to decode any of the listings using the pinned list. I am seeing 5 hotels when I narrow the results down to French Quarter - Bourbon Street and French Quarter - Mississippi River. I am excluding the >$200/night option, so that leaves 4 hotels. $94 (4.5 star) $102 (4 star) $114 (4 star) $131 (4 star) I can't seem to figure out which ones they are based on the amenities. I clicked on each one to the next page which sometimes revealed more amenities, but it still doesn't seem to match up. Am I doing something wrong? If you can help me figure out which hotels these are, I'd love to book through your site. Thank you!
  8. I am trying to get a 4* star hotel in Baltimore - Inner Harbor area for 11/19/09 - 11/22/09. I have bid from $65 all the way up to $86 without success using all the free re-bid zones. Any tips? Do you think it is the Saturday night that is causing the trouble? Should I bid for Thursday-Saturday and then bid separately for Saturday-Sunday? Or should I bid for Thursday night separately from the other two nights? I basically would be happy in any nice hotel in the Inner Harbor area that would accommodate 3 people (i.e. 2 beds). I am wondering if I need to go down to 3.5 stars, or even 3...
  9. I bid $75 and got it. I am happy with that. However, my question is this: When a counteroffer is given by priceline, is there any ballpark rule as to what a successful bid will be? In other words, if the counter offer is for $20 more per night, would a bid of 1/2 that ($10) be successful, or 2/3, or 1/3, etc. Or is there no general trend that people have noticed?
  10. Used the PRICELINE link. I bid $66 and they gave a counteroffer of $83 which I rejected. Any tips on what I should bid tomorrow?
  11. I am travelling to NYC 12/30-12/31 and found a hotel in MIDTOWN CENTRAL for $176 per night ($206.54 with tax). Amenities: Fitness, Business Center, High Speed Internet, Restaurant. It seems like it could be the Hudson. What do you guys think? This will be my first time buying on Hotwire and I want to make sure I'm right before I buy. Thanks!
