  1. Used the PRICELINE link here. Bid $55 for a 3.5* - rejected. Added Anaheim Hills and bid $60. Price accepted at Crowne Plaza! We are so excited and relieved to get this hotel! We were worried about getting the Red Lion but figured it's only 1 night and we would suffer through it if we had too (bad experience there). We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel 11/18-11/22/13 and decided to go a day early but didn't want to pay for another night there. This couldn't have worked out better! We love the Crowne Plaza!!! :D
  2. Thanks for the info. I would like to end this thread as we decided to stay at the Disneyland Hotel during these days. We did, however, extend our vacation by one day and did Priceline. I guess I will start a new thread since it is a different day than the ones listed in the title here.....
  3. I'm looking at a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal on a 4* in the Disneyland-Anaheim Convention Center - Garden Grove for the dates of 11/18-11/22/13. Is there anyway to determine if this is the Hyatt or the Anaheim Marriott? I did notice that the Hyatt allows pets, so would the absence of that amenity point to the Marriott? Or not necessarily? Rated 8 out of 10 or higher (Guest favorite) Guaranteed Amenities: Outdoor Swimming Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Fitness Center Choose Bed - Standard 2 beds or Standard 1 bed Price per night: $84 Either hotel would be great, but we have stayed so many times at the Hyatt that the Anaheim Marriott would be a nice change. I would love to have a new experience. We always use your links to book our hotels. Thanks for your help.
  4. Yes, avoid the Red Lion like the plague! Won that bidding on 3.5 stars 2 years ago and it was horrible, gross, and walls are paper thin. Now we will never bid on 3.5 stars because we are so afraid of getting it again which is a shame because we love some of the other hotels in that grouping like Crowne Plaza. Getting ready to bid soon for a trip in November, most likely 4 stars. We always use the links on this site, they are great here!
  5. Okay, I am confused. I had a thread in the Hotwire section to help identify a hotel. I had a separate thread in Priceline's forum for my win which was unrelated to my Hotwire inquiry. It looks like my threads were combined into one. This comment was in reference to the Hotwire hotel we passed up on. Just don't want anyone reading this thread to be confused.
  6. We never went for this deal, and stayed true to our usual way of bidding for hotels through Priceline's name your price. We ended up winning this hotel anyway. See Priceline section for details.
  7. We have gone to Disneyland every year at this same time and have never had such a hard time locking in a really great rate. We have always won very nice 3.5* hotels for around $45/night. We have tried over the last couple weeks to score a deal, but never went higher than $48 for a 3.5* hoping to get a similar rate to past years. Here is our bidding that we placed on 11/22. -Bid $60 for 4* in Disneyland Anaheim South/Garden Grove - Declined but counter offered at $81 (we didn't really want to go any higher, so we went for a lower star) -Added free re-bid zone - Bid $45 for 3.5* Disneyland Anaheim South/Garden Grove - Declined -Added free re-bid zone - Bid $48 for 3.5* Disneyland Anaheim South/Garden Grove - Declined -Added free re-bid zone - Bid $50 - Accepted at Red Lion Dates of stay are Sunday 11/27 - Thursday 12/1. We were really hoping for the Crowne Plaza or Doubletree. We mistakenly thought that the Red Lion was in the Disneyland North Zone. This really isn't a great deal considering they have an advertised rate on their site for $79 which includes free parking and free daily breakfast. We have to pay parking which is $14 and if we were to add in the daily breakfasts, it would put our total at $84...$5 more than their advertised deal. But, it is closer to Disneyland than we have ever stayed. Hopefully the hotel will exceed our expectations. :) And as always, we used your PRICELINE link for all searches and bids.
  8. It didn't on the front page, but when I click it it does show pool(s) as one of the amenities. And yes, we always your link to access our deals! :)
  9. Okay, after reading some recent wins I'm thinking this may be the Red Lion. What do you think?
  10. Hi, I need help identifying this property for check in 11/27/11-12/1/11. 3 1/2 Stars - Disneyland South Area Hotel - $56 per night Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms, Laundry Facilities (self-service), Business Center, High Speed Internet Access, Restaurant(s) It says: We are still gathering reviews for this property. I usually use Priceline's name your price, so Hotwire is new to me and I'm trying to figure out if we want to give this a try instead. Any help would be appreciated.
  11. We just scored the Crowne Plaza Anaheim - Garden Grove for $48 per night through the PRICELINE links. :) We started with the strategy noted above for $45, then Priceline offered a "one-time" rebid try if we increased our bid to $60. No way. So we added the Anaheim Hills rebid zone and bid $48 and was accepted. We wanted the Garden Grove area, so we did not include the other D-Land zone. Thanks for everything! :)
  12. We stayed there 3 years ago when it was practically new. We were quite surprised about how nice the place was... no resort fee, and easy shuttle like you said. Enjoy the stay!
  13. Haven't placed bids yet. Will do today. Cutting it close, but there was a chance of us not going!
  14. Thanks. Yes, we're aware of the risk... like you said, it's pretty low for that area. We've had no problem requesting 2 queen beds after previous Priceline wins. :) We like the newer hotels in the Garden Grove area, if that matters, but of course we'd be happy with either zone. And, of course we'll definitely use your PRICELINE links to place our bids. Thanks again. :)
  15. Hey there, My family and I are planning a Disneyland trip for next week (9/14 - 9/18) and want to use Priceline to grab a hotel room. We've used it before with great results. However, the last time we used it, I don't think the Disneyland zones were split into two... so how does that affect a bidding strategy? Do I have to concentrate on one of those or does it not matter? Anyway, those are the dates we will be there, and our maximum rate would probably be around $55. Strategy help? :) Thanks!
  16. Started bidding at $35 and at $43 they counter-offered to increase $12 to $55 (but I know not to fall for that! :) ). Bid was accepted at $48. :) This was one of the hotels we were hoping for and we are very excited! Hyatt online rate is $159 per night so I believe we got one heck of a deal! :o Thank you thereuare!
  17. We did exactly as you said and bid was accepted at $48 at the Hyatt Regency Orange County. :) I will start a new topic with the specifics so nobody looking for those dates misses it. Used the PRICELINE link through savingsbarn.com. This is one of the hotels we were hoping for. We are so excited! Thanks for your help!
  18. You are the best! Thank you so much! I'll use the link through SavingsBarn.com and will post my results. :)
  19. I'm sorry. I should have mentioned this in my post. We are looking at 3* and $55 is probably the highest we would consider bidding at this point. We'd love to get one in the $40s but I also want to be realistic. I appreciate the help. This site is great!
  20. Hi. I'm new to this board but have been reading and researching for a while. It's our first time trying the name your price feature and I need some help. We're going to Disneyland and need a room from Tues 11/28 - Thurs 12/1. It's the week after Thanksgiving which I heard was slow. Any suggestions on a starting bid? I'm pretty confident that I understand how to re-bid by adding zones. I just can't find any reported winning bids for those dates so I'm not sure how low I should start. Also, does Priceline charge a fee to bid? Any help or advice would be appreciated. :)
