  1. I started out bidding for one day only for $30 and was rejected. I got an offer to increase my bid by $8 and resubmit without changing anything but I declined. Instead I changed my dates to reflect two nights (what I had orignially wanted anyway) and raised my bid to $32. I was rejected. I then added North East (which has no 3*s) and resubmitted with $33. Rejected again. I knew I only had one last chance to get the Sheraton in Sharonville because I didn't want to take the chance of adding North East and probably getting another 3*, so I added Fort Mitchell, and really tipped my hand a bit at $37, but I got the hotel I wanted, and only paid about $5 more than I woud have liked. Which is muuuuuch better than the $79 quoted by Priceline for direct booking, and the $100+ I would have had to pay if I had booked directly through the hotel. Seriously, how does this actually work? It feels like I'm getting away with something I shouldn't! Thanks!
  2. Thanks for the heads up, luckily, I know someone in Cincy and they already alerted me to this. I plan to park on the street. As long as there are no valuables in our car, it should be fine. This isn't that bad of an area anyway.
  3. Just an update on this. We stayed at the Westgate for two nights, and two days for $99 and got two free passes for Seaworld which we upgraded to season passes for $30 each after we arrived at the park. Westagate was very upstanding. They allowed us to check in early so we could put our luggage in the room and get to Seaworld earlier in the day. The room was nice, and the staff there was immense. Probably 5 to 1 ration per guest. Very odd IMO. The only negative thing I could say about the trip was the sales pitch that we had to endure for the weekend. They really close you hard. I asked before booking and was informed the sales approach was soft, but it was really not. They promised us a maximum of 90 minutes plus breakfast, but it turned out to be almost 3 hours including the breakfast and the golf cart tour of the property. By the time it was over, I was very glad to be free. I didn't want to be rude, but I was getting very tired of the pitch about an hour into it. They just kept going and going. Anyway, I just wanted to post my experience if anyone was interested. Over all, I'd say the 2 hour 45 minutes sales pitch was about as painful as paying full price for everything. We saved $175, so in the end I feel we got off pretty good. Thanks,
  4. I abandoned this plan for Priceline. I got the same hotel (if this was indeed the Millennium) for $11 less per night. I just saved over $25 for the weekend by bidding on Priceline. I started out bidding $30 with 3* and it told me there was almost no chance of my offer being accepted, and it wouldn't let me continue. I changed my offer to $35 and I was then told I only had a small chance of winning, but it let me proceed anyway. Now I'm staying two nights 12/16, and 12/17 2006 for $88.84 tax and all! Yippee! Thanks a lot.
  5. With Fitness, Restaurant, Laundry, Pool, Business Center, and high speed for $46. It's got a 3/5 with 20+ reviews. Anyone know what this is? Millennium Maybe? Thanks!
  6. I was about to pay for what I thought to be the Westgate Lakes Resort package in Orlando for this weekend (10-26---10-28) but wanted to post a thread here to be sure. I registered, and waited for over 2 hours for the confirmation to come in the email, but it never did. I grew bored (and annoyed) so I just called the property directly. They not only gave me the hotel package for less than Hotwire would have (if it was actually WGL that I found) for $110 ($99 + 11% tax) vs. the Hotwire price of $150 ($128 + $22 in fees), but they also threw in 2 one day passes to Seaworld for free. Something I was going to buy anyway! And all I have to do is eat a complimentary breakfast buffet while they pitch me to join their timeshare. How awesome is that. So, instead of paying $275 for the weekend, I got it for $110. How's that for 40% off?! So I guess I should thank whatever glitch made the confirmation letter never show up to my email address, so I could pose a question here and check to see if the condo resort was actually the WGL! I just saved so much money, I may stop over in Savannah on the way back home. Not your typical success story that this board sees, I guess, but I just wanted to post it anyway. BTW, I had to register again under a whole different name and address just to join. Oh well. Have fun!
