  1. Thanks for the help everyone. I got very lucky and happened to come across a new hotel that just opened in London that I can use through my work affiliation. Might be worth checking out for others. It's Club Quarters Trafalgar Square about $280 a night (The Grand at Trafalgar Square). Looking forward to using the site for my next trip!
  2. Got all the way through the process and no luck yet. I'm going to give it a week or so and try again. If that doesn't work, I'll expand my search parameters a bit. Thanks for the help!
  3. No luck up to 325. I guess I can go up to $375 TOPS. What would the strategy then become? If that doesn't work, I guess I'll have to start adding 4*,but I guess I would start from scratch with that. Thoughts?
  4. Thanks so much. I'll give it a go tomorrow afternoon and will definitely let you know how it goes!
  5. Thanks for the speedy response. I've finally let it sink in that London is expensive! I'll go up to $325 per night if I have to. What do you think is the best plan of attack? (and I'm keeping notes this time on what I do each step of the way!) :)
  6. I followed the bidding suggestions all the way through and didn't get an acceptance up to $200. Should I start the process again perhaps using $205 as my starting point and going up to $215, $225, $235, $245, then increment of 5 for the remaining rebid zones. Still doesn't work? I guess I would follow step two following the same bidding startegy?
  7. I'm not sure how to bump this request up for Europe. Sorry I didn't post earlier with the NY Grand Hyatt. It looks like people are maybe entering a new title for their posts when they get a bid - I couldn't figure out how to do that. Las Vegas didn't work out - the city was jammed packed with people that week and I couldn't get anything reasonable.
  8. Didn't have much luck with a bidding strategy because of the Consumer Electronic Show, over 100,000 visitors in town and didn't receive any accepted bids up to $140.00.
  9. $265 per night, Grand Hyatt (near Grand Central).
  10. Sorry, I forgot to put some important information: I'd like to keep the price under $200 per night. Thanks.
  11. Hello, I used this site a few times and it is AWESOME. A littel nervous about using Priceline for Europe, but I guess it works the same. I would like to find a 5* (preferably) in the Mayfair/Soho area and would like to request some assistance with a bidding strategy. Thanks so much for your help! Tony
  12. I would like to request help in bidding for the LV Strip next week. I arrive on January 6 and depart on January 12th. I know the Consumer Electronic Show is mid week so the rates skyrocket. I need to get an average nightly stay around $140 for 4 or 5 stars. Not sure how to rebid on in Vegas if I only want to stay on the Strip. Can you assist?
  13. Hey, Thanks again for getting back to me. I can go up to $822 total for the three nights. Anything above that is not reimburseable - which at this point, doesn't seem to matter that much. I'm going to have to shell out above what my company will reimburse. For the 3* option, I would go up to $274 (my reimburseable amount), same areas MTW, MTE, UM/CPS. I'm thinking one night at a time might be the way to go???? This is my project for the day, so I'll be checking regularly. Thank you so much!
  14. Sorry about not keeping it in the same thread. As you can see, I'm in a bit of a panic. I get reimbursed for a total of $274 per night, so it doesn't matter how much I pay for one night if it averages out to $274 per night total. If I HAVE to, I'll go $25-$30 per night out of my own pocket. I just got back from the Grand Hyatt NY today, and after staying there, I'm really afraid to add Midtown East - the hotel was a disaster and I don't want to end up there if I possibly help it (and it seems they tend to accept a lot of bids). I'll bid in the morning and pray that something works out. I don't mind changing hotels during the stay as long as their in the same zone. I need to be near the Javits Center so I'm guessing that MTW is always best, but I could handle UM/CPS all at 4* unless that is totally not going to happen, then I'd do 3* in MTW. I seriously hope you can help, I'm comitted to meetings and already have my flight. UGH!!!! Thanks so much for your help and expertise. Tony
  15. Hi, I need some serious last minute help for october 11 - 14. I think I've tried every combination known on priceline and I'm still getting rejected (even up to $300). I'd like to keep the 4*, but I'm not having much luck. Preferences in order: 4* MTW 4* UM/CPS 4* MTE Then I guess I'd have to go down on the star rating. Or try to split the bid and do the last night on its own. I'm thinking the Friday night stay is messing things up. What strategy would you recommend? I'm reimbursed for up to $274 - if I go above, it comes out of my own pocket so I'd like to keep it within $300. HELP!
  16. Yep, that's the reimburseable amount - I'd probably go to $274.00 in MTW then start adding MTE, and the CPS. I don't mind going $10-20 above, that just comes out of my pocket. What do you think?
  17. Hello again, You guys were so great with my last one, I'm trying again for a very last minute trip next week. Would like 4* in 1. MTW - Times Square area 2. MTE 3. UM/CPS I can do upto $274 (allowed), so hoping I have some flexibility in staying in the Times Square area. Can you offer some suggestions for a strategy? Thanks! Tony
  18. Hey there - I just completed mine for October 7-9. Got the Grand Hyatt for $205. FYI
  19. Got it!!! Very last step. $205 per night for the Grand Hyatt New York for October 7 - 9. You guys are great! I have to do Vegas in January - I know what I'll be using!
  20. I'd rather not switch hotels. I'd go to a MAX of $250 for a 4* in the Times Square area. I would like to keep in at $200-$225 (NY Hotel taxes are killer). I'd rather not do MTS based on the hotels that are used there. If worse comes to worse, I guess I could add that another day if I'm striking out in the MTW, MTE area. What do you think?
  21. Thanks for the info. I think I do need to revisit the bidding strategy. It looks like I am going to have to increase the maximum I will pay. The Crowne Plaza I reserved because I just wanted to have something (and my office has some kind of arrangement - so I couldn't use your site's link, sorry) I'm hoping I don't have to use that hotel, but given that I'm paying $274 for a 3* (corporate), Maybe I need to start the previously outlined process again with higher bids. It doesn't look like many are getting rooms lower than $200 for a 4* (which is still better than $274 for a 3*!). I couldn't rebid anymore on Priceline and had to wait until today to bid again. Should I start the process again with a higher beginning bid?
  22. Thanks, will do. I thought the Sunday night stay might help. Thought about changing hotels for the different nights, I'll have to consider. I'll try to go on Priceline again tomorrow with the previously recommended bidding strategy, although I'll start higher, maybe at $170. It would seem that the closer it gets to arrival day, and hotel rooms still aren't booked, the price might come down? Once again, thanks!
  23. Thanks! I appreciate any feedback whatsoever. I just did a backup this morning which is cancellable until Friday, October 6. $274 for Crowne Plaza Times Square. Is that pretty good or do you think I can do better on priceline? One more question, I looked on the hotwire board and there were bidding suggestions for this as well. Can you "name your price" on hotwire as well? I saw a post where someone got the Westin for $222 (seems like a non-standard price).
  24. It looks like Priceline is not letting me rebid. I assume I have to wait another 24 hours before I can try again - is this correct? Getting a bit nervous because I arrive in one week. Suggestions?
