  4. Thanks for your feedback. I am going to be more positive. I dropped a line to the hotel and they seem at least willing to listen which is refreshing by itself. The previous Hudson experience was such a bad one that I am overly skittish. Will provide a trip report upon my return. Thank you
  5. I am taking my family to NYC for the Thanksgiving parade Check-in Wed, Nov 23; Check out Thursday, Nov 24th TWO rooms Started off with 5 Star, Times Square only at about $180 and got rejected; expanded to MTE Expanded to 4 star Bid $137 for 4 star and got accepted at W New York hotel Very bummed - consistent reviews "Small rooms"... Similar thing happened two years ago and I got two rooms at another postage stamp sized hotel (Hudson Hotel) I swear I wont use Priceline again for NYC (OK, I am being too negative - I will keep an open mind but that Hudson experience still brings back bad memories)
  6. Thanks Yellowdog. Just dont understand why this isn't rolled into the overall room charge. I wonder if it is covered differently in their income statements/tax treatment? As a consumer, it makes me a little upset. We do like the hotel quite a bit and had a fun stay but the resort fee ($13 by the way per night per room) is an irritant
  7. Thanks for all the helpful hints on these great boards I just got a 4* Hilton Head Resort Check-in Saturday, April 11; check out Sunday April 12 Two rooms for $79 each or about ~$94 after taxes and fees Turned out to be Crowne Plaza Hilton Head I did just notice this little gem of a statement on the hotwire pre-sale screen: "This hotel typically charges all guests a resort fee regardless of how the room is booked. The hotel collects this fee of about $20 per room per night directly from you, so it won't show in your Hotwire
  8. Rejected for a premium but snagged an intermediate thru Avis $12/day!
  9. I got exactly the same deal - same night and we are also heading to the game Thanks so much for the tip--I should buy you a beer :)
