  1. Yes, this was a PRICELINE EXPRESS bid. The amenities listed above were from after the bid. The only amenities listed before the bid that I remember are free parking, free breakfast, and free internet, as those were the only ones I cared about.
  2. Total with taxes: $75.12 Amenities:  Free Breakfast  Free Internet (in Room)  Free Parking  Indoor Pool  Spa  NonSmoking  Gym  Handicap Accessible  Business Center
  3. Amenities: Free Internet (in Room) NonSmoking Gym Restaurant Handicap Accessible Business Center
  4. $127/night for Queen Club Room (which, incidentally, is *not* the same thing as a club *level* room, which we learned after booking!) :) - free wifi. Booked through PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal
  5. Hmm...an excellent option! We aren't tied to MSG area, just not familiar with the area at all, so we figured this was the best way to go. Just booked the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal, and sure enough, InterContinental New York Barclay! Thanks so much for all your advice. Truly helpful, and we are excited to stay at this hotel!
  6. Thanks, Aaron! Will check that out. Thereuare - we'd like to be walking distance to MSG...seeing a show...Billy Joel! ;) Yes, we don't mind squishing in 2 doubles if we had to. I don't get the sense NYC has many 2 queen options.
  7. Thanks for the insight. Budget would be < $300/night, April 13-15, but that rate is looking pretty unlikely. Zones of interest would be either Chelsea or Madison Square Garden/Convention Center. Thanks for the pointer to MAPS and HOTELS.com...didn't realize there was a connection!
  8. Looking for a hotel around Madison Square Garden in mid-April, but my concern is that we will only get a room with one bed through PL. We will be 2 adults and 2 teens, so we definitely need two beds. Any suggestions on how to use PL successfully for our needs? Or are we better off booking directly with a hotel? Prices/night are quite high, so booking 2 rooms (even through PL) would be rough. We're looking for 3.0/3.5+ stars hotel.
  9. Started bidding in Airport ROC area: $45 for 3* - denied $55 for 2* - denied Since we will only be there for less than 12 hours, we didn't want to spend much. Moved location further away from airport to Henrietta: bid of $45 for 2.5* accepted on first try. Thanks for all the postings, Better Bidding, so we could have an idea of what hotel to expect.
  10. Started bidding at $45 and worked my way up over the course of a few days to final at $60. At my bid of $51, PL countered with $63.
  11. First bid of $43 accepted. With taxes, total is $56.29 for one night. So happy with the location as it's closest to where we need to go. Thanks so much to this site! Based on the successes of others, I was able to save a lot of time bidding by having reasonable idea of what would be an acceptable offer. Used the PRICELINE link, of course! Wouldn't do it any other way!
  12. Number of Rooms:1 Number of Nights:2 Room Subtotal:$40.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees:$18.94 (USD) Total Room Cost:$98.94 (USD)
  13. Placed original bid through the PRICELINE link for $45/room (needed 2 rooms) for 3.5* Orange County (Disneyland-Anaheim) area. Bid rejected, so I added 3.5* Orange County (Disneyland-Orange-Garden Grove) area and kept bid at $45. Bid accepted. Offer price accepted: $45 Number of rooms: 2 Subtotal: $90 Tax/Fees: $19.04 Total Charge: $109.04 Am expecting to be hit with a $12 resort fee/room upon arrival.
  14. Here's a new hotel to add to the Priceline Hotel List: Lexington Plaza Waterfront Hotel (formerly the Sheraton Stockton Hotel at Regent Pointe) Bid $40 for 3* in Stockton (using the PRICELINE link). Rejected, but PL counter offered for additional $12. I declined, and then re-bid for 3* by adding Lathrop zone for $46. Bid accepted. Total charges: $40 + $12.07 taxes = $58.07 total FYI...hotel website says there's a $10 parking charge.
  15. Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, it is the Santa Clarita/Valenica location. Thereuare is right with the address. This hotel was very nice. The free breakfast had a great variety of food, including fresh belgian waffles (you make them yourself), cereal, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, hard boiled eggs, toast, bagels, english muffins, a small selection of muffins, yogurt, juices, etc. Definitely a nice bonus for the price.
  16. Been bidding everyday for the past 2 weeks on either a 3.5* or 3* in the Valencia area with no luck. Finally got accepted today (using the PRICELINE link) for a 3* for $60: Residence Inn by Marriott. For the 3.5* hotel, my bidding ranged from $60 - $71. For the 3*, bidding ranged from $50 - $60. Received a couple of counteroffers for the 3.5* bids to add $15 - $17 (depending on the counteroffer), but I always declined, thinking I could still get it for less. Had I accepted, the final "bid" would have been around $78-$80. Surprised my $71 bid was not accepted given the counteroffers, but oh well. The Residence Inn looks nice from the website. Thanks, Better Bidding.
  17. Won the bid thru the PRICELINE link. Tried a few days ago, and bid up to $55 with no luck. Tried the following today: bid Disneyland at $50...denied rebid with Disneyland + Anaheim Hills at $52...denied rebid with Disneyland + Anaheim Hills + Long Beach at $54...accepted So oddly enough, I got accepted today at a lower rate than what I had bid the other day.
  18. FINALLY got a winning bid through. Wasn't the Hyatt like I had hoped, but am still pleased with the Marriott. Marriott MCO 11/20-11/21/08 $60 bid accepted, w/ taxes total = $75.44 Used the PRICELINE link. (Tried bidding many, many, many separate times, starting from $45, $50, $55. Didn't know of any free rebids, so had to keep trying individual bids.) Thanks!
  19. Sorry I didn't post the previous win...must have slipped my mind! In any case, the win was for April 2007, and unfortunately, I don't remember what the direct rate was.
  20. I ended up not using PRICELINE and just booked directly with Hojo via their website. After checking a few of the 3* hotels' websites, it seemed like most added a resort fee plus a parking fee. Once you added those costs to the winning bid, it bumped up the final cost quite a bit (assuming you had to pay these extra fees in addition to the PRICELINE bid). I just decided to go with a known destination, within easy walking distance to Disneyland so we didn't have to rely on the hotel's shuttle system. Does anyone know whether you have to pay the resort fee on top of the PRICELINE bid price?
  21. Hi, I've been bidding on the Orlando MCO area for a few weeks now. Trying to get a 3* for $45-$50. I've won the Hyatt for $45 in the past, so it appears to be a reasonable bid. However, I just can't seem to win one for this trip (11/20/08 - 11/21/08). Is it too early? I've bid both for $45 and for $50 with no luck. I'm wondering if Thanksgiving has anything to do with it, but I can't imagine it b/c I'm a week early, mid-week, one night. Also, are there any free rebid tricks so I don't have to wait 2 days in between each try? Tried to check out Hotwire's offers for this date to see if my bid was even close, but I didn't see any 4* listings (which is what they consider the Hyatt to be). I'd be happy with any of the nearby hotels that offer free shuttle service to/from the MCO airport, but of course the Hyatt would be the most ideal. Budget wise, I'd like to stay under $60 pre-tax. Would love to hear any advice you have! Thanks so much.
  22. Sorry - now I understand about the trip advisor rating! Hojo's is NOT the 2.5 rating...it's the unidentified property. I see what you're asking now. I was thinking that if it was Hojo's, the 2.5 didn't bother me. But if it's an unknown, then I don't really want to test it out. Brain's working just a little slower these days... :)
  23. Yep...the HoJo's at 1380 S. Harbor Blvd. I'm surprised by the TA rating. The location is truly ideal if you're headed to Disneyland, and they have a newly constructed water play area (according to their website.) If I knew for "certain" that this Hotwire listing was Hojo's, I'd get it despite the TA rating. However, since the property is unidentified, I'm not so willing to take the risk! :) Trying to find a good deal w/o having to pay additional daily parking and "resort" fees. Hojo's doesn't charge either, so that was nice. Is there any way to know ahead of time if the property charges these additional fees? Looks like I'm back to the drawing board... Thanks so much for your help and advice. I really appreciate it!
