  1. Yes. I believe I started at $50.00 went to $55.00 and jumped to $63.00. (Reason being there are not that many Re-bid areas in Denver which do not have 3*.)
  2. This was a rough go as I went for a 4* and started at $60.00 and went all the way up to $100.00 at $5.00 increments using all the extra destinations without 4*. From there tried to split and in the end went with the 3*. Started at $50.00 and was accepted at $63.00. In Denver for the Greenbuild Conference at the Convention Center. Greenbuild rates for this hotel are $129.00 so I have saved the company money. Tripadvisor feedback seems mixed but the pool will be mine in the a.m. for laps. Thanks again for all of your tireless assistance.
  3. Just booked the Omni for one night as a mini-getaway through savingsbarn/priceline. Look forward to it...
  4. hephaestion, Could you please describe how you go about ordering the select guest program and how much it costs and benefits. My wife and I just won a bid for july 3rd. Thank you
  5. The highest previously rejected bid at the 3* level which included the MTE zone was $140.00.
  6. This has truely been an adventure with Priceline Bidding. During this time, I managed to plug in the wrong dates (June 10 -13th) vs. (Sept. 10-13th) and inadvertantly booked a hotel. I called Customer service and they quickly issued me an email with a one-time courtesy cancellation and a $75.00 fee. In order to waive part of the $75.00 I met the guidelines by re-booking within 7 days for different dates. As time was pressing on and I could not find a decent price I called Priceline again and asked if they would waive the 7 day limit as I felt I needed more time to book the last remaining nights at a resonable price. Priceline would not stretch the 7 day policy so the result is a 2 1/2* for the aforementioned price. In the end, Priceline has said that I have qualified for the $50.00 credit and only $25.00 will be charged. I find no fault with Priceline and have been very happy with the customer service and assistance on this site. As a first time user I feel like I have taken a mini-seminar with Priceline/Betterbidding and I look forward to the New York visit and will definately use Priceline/Savingsbarn/Betterbidding again. Thank you again for your passion in helping frugal travelers like myself!
  7. Booked this Hotel recently as part of the 09/08-09/13 venture. I tried many many different prices and stars to get 3 nights conseq. to no avail so I decided to split the trip again. (This will be like an urban Nepalese Tea House Trek) Happy with the win, although I was offered an extended stay after the award and after I eagerly accepted it was declined for the same amount. (although I could of course have the option of extending for $408.00) Anyway I passed and will look forward to staying there on September 10th. Thank you again for your assistance.
  8. Yes in fact the win happened today and $160 was my first bid for the MTS 3* parameter. Thanks Again and I will keep you posted under a new thread for the remainder of the stay.
  9. I have booked the Affinia Manhattan 3* @ MTS for $160.00 per night from 9.08.06 with a check out date of 09.10.06 through Priceline via savingsbarn. I tried numerous times in all Manhattan zones to no avail up to $210.00 for the full 09.08.06-09.13.06 for a 4* and tried splitting many different ways. Tripadvisor gives good feedback on the Affinia so the price and location work for me. I will continue to try for 09.10.06-09.13.06 for a 3* or 4* below $200.00 I will keep you posted and great thanks again for all of your help.
  10. Yes. These 4 zones would be acceptable and MTW being the most preferable. No other zones would be acceptable at this time.
  11. MTW would be 1st choice. MTE second choice. UM/CPS - Could you tell me which zones these are please.
  12. Yes, let's try to split the bid first in order to save money.
  13. No. I have no reservations at this time back-up or otherwise. Please advise on how to proceed...
  14. Knowing which hotel is selected is less of an issue as long a 4 star or better. Price is the major factor - Around $200.00 per night. We will take whichever amenities come with the hotel. Thank you again for your help.
  15. This is very helpful information. Turns out I have booked my flight already and I will try to book a hotel using priceline or hotwire. Which one do you recommend?
  16. Looking for flight and 4 star hotel package together.
  17. Dear Moderator, I have not used Priceline or Hotwire before and I was wondering if somebody could walk me through this process. I prefer to travel from Long Beach, Ca. to New York City in September 2006 from 9th - 13th. Looking to book both flight and 3-4 star hotel (in mid town). Thank you in advance for your assistance! Greg
