$78 per night for August 5-7, one of the busiest times of the year for the area and the hotels. Other hotels are charging $185 or so, but this was a steal! Was hoping for something closer to Twinsburg, but 15 minutes at this price will do just fine. 3* Macedonia/Twinsburg/Hudson Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, Akron area. This was not on the Hotwire hotel list, so that should be updated. I would expect it in the Streetsboro category.

Glad you were able to book Loews too. If you haven't stayed there yet, you will be very happy with it. Everyone there was VERY friendly. We were given a room on the 20th floor with a view of the city. The bell hop told us the other side of the hall had a view of the building itself, so we were lucky. I did not feel like they cared or even noticed that we paid with Priceline. Parking is not cheap, $38 for overnight, but they give you till 5:00 the next day if you want to do some site seeing. This was probably the best Priceline experience I've ever had, and maybe the best hotel experience. I will be posting a review later, definitely recommend this place!

Wanted Rittenhouse or Convention center, 3 or 4*. Started with 4* Rittenhouse at $75. Rejected, but PL invited me to re-bid if I started at $101. I said no. Added Convention Center which didn't have a 4*, $80. Rejected. Added 3.5*, *85. Rejected. Added 3*, $90. Accepted, and PL upgraded my start rating. I expected to get a 3* after adding that option, but was lucky enough to get the 4*!

Bid at $3 increments starting at $105, up to $115, then jumped to $120. Used Airport, Downtown, and Henrietta options. Lowest price on Priceline without bidding was $130 for Holiday Inn Airport (same as my winning hotel) . This is the last weekend of the Lilac Festival, so I knew prices would be higher than normal.

First bid for 3* at Buffalo airport was accepted. $40 for one night, 1/6/10. Wondering if I should have started lower. I didn't see winning bids for lower than $45 though.

2 rooms - $90 accepted for a 4* only in that area, with a free re-bid from Midway Airport. I started at $70 and worked my way up, trying to add Greater Chicago also, even adding 3* at some point. Eventually when the price got to $85, I took out the 3* and Greater Chicago and only wanted 4* in Millenium Park and it was accepted at $90, the first try after taking out the other options. I'm extremely happy with the choice of hotel for my relatives to visit.

I forgot to mention that I bid up to $100 on Priceline for a 4* and was unsuccessful. I found this on Hotwire and was really happy with the price for the * level.

2 rooms, bid starting at $60, increased $5 each time. The first time $80 was not accepted, but 10 minutes later I started a new session, forgot I had already bid $80 and bid it again and bid was accepted. I didn't see the Silversmith Hotel on the Chicago Hotels list, so this must have been newly added. It's for my parents when they come visit me, so I'll give a review of it after the visit. The location seems great though, right on the edge of the loop. Hotel website has pictures and it looks beautiful.

3* Marriott in Cleveland Airport Vicinity for $40, first bid for 5/29/06

I'm staying at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago in a few weeks and have a request also. Where is this email link for Priceline that you mentioned? I already called the hotel, but I'd like try email also to try to get what I want. Thanks in advance!

First bid accepted for $75 in this zone. Previous bids last week for up to $65 failed. Priceline suggested to me to start at $80, but I was greedy. :)
