  1. Crown Plaza Heathrow, Aug 15, 2 rooms, $68 first bid accepted.
  2. Was hoping for the Grosvenor house, as last few bids were won there. Started at $200, didn't try free rebids as I was worried about a 4 star being upgraded to 5 star without my knowledge. Just kept bidding $10 higher every day. Was offered 5* at $301 a couple of times. Finally, at $285 we got 2 rooms at the Sofitel St James for 8/13 and 14. Sorry, forgot to bid through this forum. Am going for a hotel at Heathrow now, wil go through BB.
  3. I am not bothered by paying $300 if I have a good chance of getting a hotel I like. Priceline has too many hotels I don't like, with no chance of guessing which one you will get. Thanks to this website, on HOTWIRE you have a pretty good chance of guessing what you are bidding on.
  4. Oops- sorry, you're right, I confused the B in my shorthand notes for Business, not Boutique. Which I still can't figure out, unless it is the Club Quarters. I have never seen laundry listed.
  5. Actual dates are Nov 22-26, I prefer the times square or midtown central area four star. What I cant figure out is, what hotel offers laundry as one of their icons? I have never seen that before.
  6. I quit bidding and booked a room directly with the New York Palace, one of my favorite hotels.
  7. I gave up on bidding and booked a room at the New York Palace directly. This time I need two rooms, and prices are high for Thanksgiving week.
  8. Hotwire has a four star in Times square for $246 over Thanksgiving, but I can't identify it. They list Business, restaurant, Laundry and Hi Speed Internet. Any ideas? Thanks merryecho
  9. Bid $120, I only want times square 4 star, added upper west side, bid $131, still no luck, and hotels in the area are going for $250 retail. Will try in few days.
  10. Got the Benson on 12/18 for $71, but when I emailed to ask if we could get a room with 2 beds they told me it would be an extra $20. They had a rack rate of $149, so I guess it is still a good deal.
  11. You will love this hotel! Our room was gorgeous, the staff is wonderful and being across the street from the park is so refreshing after a day in the city. merryecho
  12. Yep- it was the Westin! I held my nose and plunged- bidding thru SavingsBarn.com. With $25/day taxes etc. it is just over $200/day total- I am happy! I hope I can use my starwood gold preferred card to upgrade a level.
  13. I really want either the westin or W in times square Oct.8-12. Today there is a times square 4.5 star with restaurant, fitness, hi speed internet, business and spa for $180- about $100 less than I can find anywhere else for these two hotels. What does anyone think the chances are that this is either the Westin or W? Thank you
  14. This one is still popping up as the 4.5 star for the theater district. Any ideas? Could it be the Muse? I am looking for a 4-5 star for October 8-12, and I don't see any hotwire 4.5's in that area other than the westin and W, both hardly boutiques. I wouldn't mind central park south, but there is a big difference between the Intercontinental and the essex house!
