  2. Used the PRICELINE link. Started at $40.00, which was rejected, then bid it up in one dollar increments, since Houston has so many zones. Finally accepted at $49.00. My wife was really hoping for this hotel. She and her mother stayed here last year when her mother won a night's stay in a raffle. The hotel is great and the location cannot be beaten. We love BetterBidding! 3. Maybe I should have started lower. I read the earlier post from the person who had really worked it and nothing got accepted until $102 at Mariott Rivercenter. I started at $102. and it was accepted at Hotel Contessa. Reviews of this hotel are very good, though. I used the PRICELINE link. Thanks for the great site.
  4. Yes, I looked it up on Quikbook. They are pretty stuck on staying close to Times Square. My father in law has a bad leg, so he doesn't want to walk far. We're going to talk to them to make sure they understand the transportation options. With Priceline's fees, the total should be about the same.
  5. Bid over the course of several days, started at $120. MTW only, but climbed to $165. MTW and MTE for my wife's parents and their friends. Still rejected. That's their limit. I've been looking at your other sites for a cancelable insurance hotel, not finding much. Maybe the Best Western President? Any input on that hotel? Thank you.
  6. Wanted Galleria area as first choice and downtown as second choice. Started with $50 in Galleria - rejected. Added Downtown, left bid at $50 - rejected. Started over with Galleria at $64 - rejected. Added Northwest (free bid zone?) and bumped to $66 - rejected. Added Downtown and bumped to $70 and got the Westin City Center. Thanks for the very helpful site!
  7. Not really a new member. I don't travel much, and my screen name has expired. Yes, two nights. Thanks, Better Bidding!
  8. :) 4* Dallas (downtown) on Feb 3 & 4 $69. accepted on first try. Oh, got Westin City Center Dallas as the hotel.
