  1. For this visit later in the week, plans changed slightly, which will put me more in Queens and Long Island. I've booked a traditional, transparent reservation at the Fairfield Inn Queensboro Bridge, rather than play Priceline roulette with the more hit-or-miss (in my opinion) Queens properties. Thank you once again for the assistance!!
  2. I kept my traditional (non-opaque) reservation at the Hampton Inn Times Square for this December 2013 trip. Great experience...large room with automatic deadbolt lock, good shower pressure, hard-working staff. Central location, of course. Breakfast room was an absolute zoo, but plenty of other options outside. Rate paid was as indicated above. Excellent for Christmas week, I thought. Didn't know about the Hampton affiliate link at the time, but will use going forward. Belated thanks again!
  3. Can't immediately ID this Express Deal offered for 5/7-5/10 2015: 4*, Downtown/Financial District Pets allowed, Restaurant, Fitness Center, Free Internet, Business Center Guest Rating: 8+ Guest Favorite shield $137/night "Pets allowed" is throwing me off. (No hotel on the BB Priceline list in this category indicates "pets allowed.") Thanks in advance.
  4. Bid as follows: * $80 - Convention Center - Mid Center City -- rejected but offered counteroffer at $107 * $88 - added University Area -- rejected * $94 - added Rittenhouse Square - Business District -- rejected I noticed there was a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal offered for a 4* in Convention Center - Mid Center City for $104. With the 5% coupon added, I figured I could offer a maximum bid of $98 and still beat the Express Deal with the 5% coupon deduction. Voila: Loews Philadelphia Hotel - 4 star Convention Center - Mid Center City 1200 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107 Check-In: Thu, Jun 12, 2014 / After 04:00 PM Check-Out: Sat, Jun 14, 2014 / 12:00 PM Offer Price: US$ 98.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: US$ 196.00 Taxes & Fees: US$ 38.38 Total Charged to Card: US$ 234.38 As always, I accesed the Price.line site using the link from the BetterBidding Web site.
  5. First bid criteria were: 2.5 stars, Near Strip West, $48. Rejected. Second bid: added Strip North Vicinity, $50. Rejected. Third bid: added Lake Las Vegas, $52. Accepted: Holiday Inn Express Las Vegas South 2½ star Near Las Vegas Strip West 5760 Polaris Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89118 =========================================== Room Subtotal: $52.00 Taxes & Fees: $14.04 Total Charged to Card: $66.04 I used the link on the BetterBidding site to access Priceline. Thanks.
  6. The hotel I booked is the Hampton Inn Manhattan-Times Square North. Using a AAA discount (I have a valid membership), the room rate was: $103.20 (Dec. 24) $126.65 (Dec. 25) for a total of $229.85 [or about $115/night]. With taxes, the total was $270.75 [or about $135/night]. I understand this property is not a 4*, but it seems to be as good as or superior to many other 4*s, like the chaotic Sheraton. So for $135/night, all-inclusive, with a HHonors point earning opportunity, I'm happy -- for now.
  7. It turns out that transparent pricing is unusually reasonable for these dates. For now, I've booked a traditional, non-opaque reservation...but I will continue to monitor HOTWIRE over the next few days to see if anything enticing is offered that beats the rate I've currently got. And of course, I will check and book using the BetterBidding link. As always...thank you very much for the assistance so far.
  8. Thank you very much. I didn't click the links prior to posting. After some thought I believe it's the Shoreham Hotel, but I'm still not certain.
  9. Hi, For a 2 night stay, Dec. 24-26, Hotwire is offering a 4* in Midtown Central. Price per night is being quoted as $79. Amenity set: Free Internet Pet friendly Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Internet access ...and "90%" recommend (TripAdvisor rating is 4.0). Even with a unique amenity list including Free Internet, Pet friendly, and Self-Serve Laundry (!), I can't nail it from the BetterBidding Hotwire hotel list. Would appreciate any help. Thanks!!
  10. Expected a choppy and challenging Priceline bidding process, given somewhat high transparent rates throughout L.A. on this night, and somewhat limited Hotwire availability (and high prices). But my first bid of $100 in Hollywood, 4 stars, was accepted, unexpectedly, by the W: Offer Price: $100.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $100.00 Taxes & Fees: $23.43 Total Charged to Card: $123.43 This is for one of my friends, so I won't be staying there. I linked to the PRICELINE site via BetterBidding.
