DH and I have been bidding for a few weeks for 12/31-1/3 without luck, bidding up to $150. Today we found what appeared to be the Intercontinental on HOTWIRE for $136 for 1/1-1/3. We decided to break up the days and bid for new years eve separately and give PRICELINE a try. Bid $100 for a Resort 1/1- 1/3 in San Juan. Rejected. Site countered with $125 for a free rebid and I went for it (they had worn me out with rejections for our other dates by then). The $125 was accepted (surprise!) We are very happy with our results. After "winning" the bid we were offered an opportunity to extend our stay to 12/31 for $255. We declined and will try our luck a little closer to our travel dates. Not sure if it is new or not as this is the first time I have tried to book this hotel (and paid attention specifically to the amenities.) I wondered about it too, as you don't need a shuttle at this property...but it was listed with an icon...

Booked! 3 1/2 Star, Orlando MCO, Hyatt Regency MCO, Two Rooms for 1/2/06-1/3/06 $66 per night Amenities (before booking): Airport Shuttle Restaurant(s) Pool(s) Fitness Center High-speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby Business Center Comparison rate $199. Current lowest rate I could find was $179 through AAA website. Searched w/Netscape and IE and recieved bids of $68 per night (for both one room and for two rooms).
