I started with $50 and won on my 2nd bid at $55. I wonder how much lower I could get if I had aimed for 3*.

Started bids at $70 for 4.5* and continued to 4* and then 3* (skipped 3.5* because most of the reported 3.5* hotels are not on the river walk but a block or more away). Additional $20 in taxes and fees.

I was shooting for 2.5* or better in either northwest Houston or near IAH. I started at $25 and then used additional star levels and three more zones (with 2* max) for re-bids in $2-5 increments. Also, my bid was 2 days prior to my stay. Though it was a good deal, I'm disappointed in the amenities offered. Wifi is not free and no continental breakfast.
