  1. We won't be visiting the Disney parks (but will try to visit like the downtown Disney area). We are debating between sea world and discovery cove. But in terms of the Disney parks or universal, really don't want to spend on that. We know they are different from our l.a. Parks but we'll have to pass
  2. Hey, I took forever to start up my search again for an Orlando Hotel. So reviving this post again. I am looking for the following: Ratings: 4*+ Price: I would prefer under $100 (but can go around $140) It will be 2 of us, trying to have a fun but relaxing vacation. Locations: Sea World-Idrive, universal-Idrive;, Downtown Disney Any feedback on the following locations: Downtown Orlando or MCO? Should I try bid on this as well?
  3. Thanks I actually decided to go with the Walnut creek area, and think I have decided between two hotels (walnut creek marriot and embassy suites). So probably will have to skip using PRICELINE since I cant get any guarantee on those hotels and we need to be right by public transportation.
  4. Thanks for that initial advice, will definitely start doing more research. Any recommendations on areas from personal experience? We still havent decided if we will rent a car or not.
  5. Thanks for the reply. Well it's only 2 of us going (sister and I, both in our 20's). It's really only Gatorland on the agenda, but we have debated between visiting one of the universal or disneyland parks. We know we dont have a lot of dates, so dont want to spend every day at an amusement park. We only need 1 room.
  6. I thought I had done it, but I did it right now. Thanks!
  7. Hey, I will be going to Orlando, Florida from Saturday 11/10 to Wed 11/14. I have never been there, am not familiar with the area, and what the good locations or good hotels are. In general it seems like a pretty affordable time for nice hotels- so i'm wondering if it's a good idea to use priceline for this search. Any suggestions? Or is it better to just go with the other websites? Only thing we plan to do for sure is Gatorland (my sister is obsessed with alligators), and other than that we just want to explore Orlando. Would love a NICE hotel for a decent price. 3 1/2* and up- is what i'm looking for. Price- under $125/night (I have seen a lot of hotels under that price, which is why I say it). Really need some help on areas to bid on and people's thoughts on renting a car.
  8. Hey Everyone, I am planning to go to the San Francisco area for the CAL-UCLA game... Will be there 10/5-10/7. We want to stay where we can easily walk to BART (Public transportation), so therefore are looking at the main downtown area (union square, financial district...) Any suggestions on bidding areas as well as strategy would be appreciated. Would like a decent hotel 4*, 3 1/2*, or even 3*. Price range= <$150 would be preferred (but I keep seeing things close to $200) Thanks! -Lili
  9. Yeah I was not successful with the bidding. San Diego is just really busy and it was was pretty obvious because all the websites I would use would only give a handful of available hotels. But I ended up booking the 'San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina' for $245 a night on PRICELINE. It's actually the cheapest I found, and I was checking multiple websites. I figured because it includes "parking, $40 credit"... it still ended up a bit more affordable than other hotels. Thanks for all your help. I'll definetely be using this site a lot more on all my trips.
  10. I started my bidding at $150, $160, $175, $200 Zones: Downtown, Coastal, Old Town Went from 5 stars, 4 stars, 3.5, and even did some 3 stars (but my max there was $175)
  11. Well the only zonES I am familiar with are: Downtown Point Loma/Old Town Coastal Other than that I am not familiar with other areas? Would coronado be a good option?
  12. Yeah i'm about to give up on priceline as well, same weekend. I have been trying from $100-$200 and nothing, and went down to 3 stars. I'll try again tonight, and then continue looking on other sites for the most affordable.
  13. Hey, I am looking for a hotel in the San Diego area. I'm not picky about the area, but i've been looking at Downtown, oldtown, coastal area, La Jolla (dont know what zone that would be). Basically just a nice/clean area, touristy is ok. We do have a car, just dont want to be in like "bad" areas. If I could get any suggestions on possible zones, and strategies? Looking at 3 1/2 stars and up, and hoping we dont have to pay more than $200/night (really looking around 150-175). I have been trying the last two days, but have been rejected with a lot of options. But never thought about an actual strategy. Thanks.
  14. I'm looking for the same dates. Last night I tried a few different bids on the San Diego/Downtown area and even the coastal area but all of my bids were rejected, I think I bid up to $160. I didn't think San Diego would be so pricey, as I've stayed there before.
