  1. I'm glad its 15 for you. That would have been no issue. But $50 upgrade was tough for me to digest. Good luck friend.
  2. I went all the way up. Talked to Front Office Manager. But they could care less. It was that bad. I would have called hotwire, but being in Canada I didnt have my cell phone working. I am not giving up though. This is fight worth fighting if it helps others in future.
  3. No its not. This is property that treats hotwire customers real bad. I see my review was moved to my post. Will follow mods advice. But am really ticked off. I think as Mods you have a responsibility to make users aware of hotels that perform under par. And now that I know.. I see so many other reviews on Tripadvisor that warn of the same thing. Wish I had seen it earliar.
  4. I know this might not be the right place for posting reviews. But I wanted to give a heads up to anyone who might be lured into this extremely bad deal. I secured 4 nights at Sutton Place Hotel in Vancouver via Hotwire. It was a complete nightmare. The hotel itself is barely a 3* at best and not even good at that. We were 2 adults and a baby. They gave us room with 2 twins (and wanted $50/night for upgrade to a King). I have tons of pictures of our room. Room looked and felt ancient. The paint is chipping off, the marble countertop in the bathroom was cracked (though filled in with caulk but a hack job). Tub looked downright dirty (but we realized its just age). They were not all that nice once they figured we were hotwire bookings. I can go on and share pictures and more if y'all are interested. I plan to take this up with Hotwire though it might be an uphill battle. On the contrary we made 2 bookings in Seattle (Westin and Sheraton). Both were immaculate and great experience.
  5. Now this might not be true all the time but I have made 3 hotel bookings in last 2 weeks. Though I was keeping an eye on prices for over 5 weeks. I noticed there is curve. Essentially, if the hotel has availability closer to the date, they try to unload those rooms at a lower price than say 3-4 weeks prior. I say just hang in tight. And to verify my theory, check on the 08/02-08/04 Seattle Downtown Pike Place hotel 4*, prices for next few days. I am betting they would be lower than what I paid - $138. For example the price for your dates $191 right now is either Sheraton or Westin and I got both of them for <$150. Just make sure there are no Events in the city for the dates of interest. You can ask fols in seattle forum on tripadvisor. Good luck.
  6. You are right it disappeared. It was there all day yesterday though. Besides, I say just wait for day or two.. From what seems to is that they dont just lower the price on the same hotel. They take it completely off.. and then it will reappear with lower price (most of the time depending on availability). I am assuming something like $118 or so cuz I booked on Priceline the Westin for that much with less than week to go.

  10. Thank you BetterBidding and everyone else who helped ID the hotel. Its at $140 now. From the Amenities, it was going to be either Sutton Palace or Pan Pacific. Was hoping for Pan Pacific but I guess thats too much to ask for that price.
  11. Thank you very much!!! And thank you better bidding. Amazing site. Will come back here often. I just booked Sutton Palace for $134/night. Not bad especially with being so close to travel.
