  1. Hi - I just wanted to report that I got the Hilton at CDG for 1 night July 10-11, 2011 for $105 (total with taxes and fees=$119.71). Prepay price on Hilton.com was $175. It was listed as 4* and the following amenities: Airport Shuttle Restuarant(s) Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby Betterbidding.com was very helpful in that I was able to narrow it down to the Hilton or Sheraton. I was kind of hoping for the Sheraton, but the Hilton looks good too and I knew I would be okay with either one. It looks like the Hilton and Sheraton are nearly impossible to distinguish because not only is their amenity list the same, but this hotel rated that 95% of previous Hotwire travelers would return; previously I saw a listing from someone who got the Sheraton which at the time was also listed as 95%. Good luck to others who may be booking at CDG; hope this is helpful. Oh and I almost forgot... I used the betterbidding.com HOTWIRE link to book. Thanks! Kim
  2. FINALLY I did it! Today the 3* Hotwire came up at $45 with the following 4 amenities: Fitness Center Pool Business Center High-speed Internet Access AND Recommended in 100% of Hotwire customer reviews Hyatt Place Orlando/Universal 5895 Caravan Court Orlando, FL, 32819 Used the betterbidding HOTWIRE link to book it for 11/11/10- 11/14/10 Total with taxes and fees came to $158.43 I am very pleased. Thank you for your assistance and patience!
  3. Thank you for your reply. I had a feeling it had not been reported b/c it did not seem to match exactly with any reported on the list. As for what I am looking for... I am having trouble deciding. This is basically a quick trip for my 11 y.o. son and I to go to the Universal parks and see the new Harry Potter. On one hand, I am holding a reservation (refundable at the Doubletree) for which I got a good rate. I thought it would be nice to walk to the parks. But I keep waffling between keeping that and going for a HOTWIRE or PRICELINE deal for less money and a car for convenience which together would cost about the same or less than the Doubletree reservation. I will be sure to follow-up with what I decide... either keep current reservation or with details of a HOTWIRE or PRICELINE purchase. Thanks for all the help. Kim
  4. Still haven't booked yet but have been checking HOTWIRE frequently using your link to do so. I am looking for help to identify the following: 3 nights Nov 11-14 3* Universal Orlando - I-drive North area Hotel - $43 Bed Choice Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Business Center Laundry Facilities Hi-speed Internet Tennis Recommended in 75 % of Hotwire customer reviews Thanks for your help! Kim
  5. Hi, Okay I have switched courses. I am thinking about a 3* level hotel. I am curious about one showing on Hotwire: 3 nights Nov 11-14 3* Universal Orlando - I-drive North area Hotel - $42 Pool Restaurant Hi-speed Internet Recommended in 95 % of Hotwire customer reviews Any guesses on what hotel this may be? Also, I have searched Hotwire vacations and have found some reasonable hotel+car combos. I may go that route because think Hyatt Place may be a good fit for us (3 nights 11/11-14 with compact car for $364.95). I have been using your HOTWIRE link for my searches. Is that the best link to use to book a Hotwire vacation too? Thanks again for all of the assistance. :) Kim
  6. Thank you! I am most likely going to cancel the Doubletree reservation. At first I wasn't planning to get a car and now I may; parking at Doubletree is $12/night. I am definitely not going to bid on the 4* in this posting (although I did see someone booked a *4 with the same amenities and it was the Crown Plaza as suspected). I am going to start a new thread because I have a am wondering about a different hotel. Thanks!
  7. Update: I just checked HOTWIRE today (using your link :) ). It is still showing a 4* with the same amenities I previously posted. Today the price is $89. In the meantime I have decided that I probably will NOT select this hotel. I have made a reservation directly with the Doubletree at Universal for a better price that is cancellable up to 72 hours in advance. As we get into the fall, I am going to check HOTWIRE again. I will start a new thread if I start pursuing another HOTWIRE option. Thanks for the help. This site is great!
  8. I knew that I was forgetting something when I posted the question... here is the current information:4* Universal Orlando - I-drive North area Hotel Nov/11-14/2010 $92/ night Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Business Center Laundry Hi Speed Internet Recommended in 90 % of Hotwire customer reviews Thank you for your assistance! Kim
  9. I am looking at hotels for Universal area for 3 nights 11/11- 11/14. A 4* hotel for Universal Orlando - I-drive North area Hotel is coming up $86 for those dates. Based on what the Orlando list for Universal I thought it was the Crowne Plaza or the Doubletree at the entrance to Universal. However, when I look at those same dates in Hotwire vacations (hotel + car), both the Crowne Plaza and the Doubletree are listed as 3-1/2 *. Do you have any idea what hotel this may be, or is it possible the star ratings vary between hotel only and hotel+car vacation packages? Thanks! Kim
  10. Just booked this hotel for 2 adults and 1 child through HOTWIRE (used your HOTWIRE link) 4* Seattle (Downtown-Pike Place) Sheraton, $119 for June 17-19, 2010 The ameninites listed were: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Also it listed this as recommended by 90% of customers. Your site was extremely helpful and I was pretty certain from reading everything that I was going to get the Sheraton. Thanks for a great resource! Kim
  11. I searched Hotwire vacation packages and found a package deal for the Marriott Pittsburgh Airport rated at 3.5* with amenities identical to my initial inquiry. I did not bid on it through Hotwire since I was only interested if I could be fairly certain that it was the Hyatt. I did however decide to take a chance on Priceline and it paid off. I was holding a reservation for the Courtyard Marriott Airport for $79. I decided to bid for a 2.5* through Priceline. My first bid was for $30, which was rejected. I added Allegheny Valley, upped to $33 which was accepted. With taxes and fees I am paying 1/2 the price for the same hotel.
  12. Thank you for your help. Just to let you know, there is no longer a Wyndham at PIT; it is now the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott. I actually live in Pittsburgh. We are looking to stay at an airport hotel the night before our early morning flight. I am holding a cancellable reservation at the Courtyard Pittsburgh Airport. I got a rate of $79 for Marriott reward members (Winter Weekend 20% off). I have confirmed that this will allow us to "park and fly". I am not sure if I am going to just stick with that or not. I am concerned about getting a hotel through Hotwire or Priceline and then having the hotel tell us that we cannot leave our car. Although if I can get the Hyatt it would be worth the extra money to pay to park as the hotel is connected to the airport. I will follow up to post details of a priceline or hotwire purchase or if I just stick with the Courtyard.
  13. I had switched gears and bid through Priceline instead of Hotwire for that Orlando Airport stay. I updated the thread with my winning bid on Priceline. Thanks again for your assistance.
  14. I ended up bidding for this stay through Priceline instead of going through Hotwire. I got the Marriott MCO 3* for $65. It was for a one night stay on 1/27/2006.
  15. I need a hotel at the PIT airport for one night (Friday Jan. 12th). On Hotwire there is a Customer Favorite 3.5* coming up for $67. Could this be the Hyatt? Is there another 3.5* for the PIT airport? Here are the amenities listed: Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access Thank you in advance for your assistance. - Kim
  16. I am looking for a one night at an MCO airport (1/27/06) and on hotwire the following 3* hotel came up for $73. Does anyone know what hotel this might be? Thanks! Customer favorite airport shuttle, restaurant, pool, fitness center, tennis nearby, business center, laundry.
  17. I am interested in this area too. If you used Priceline to get a hotel in Grand Cayman for April, cld1225, I would be interested to learn how it worked out. I am planning a 4 night trip for the end of October and I am trying to decide whether or not to use Priceline for the hotel room. On TOBB, I read information about the Marriott coming up for a winning bid. It was classified as a Resort property, however it appears that the beach has severely erroded and at times there is no beach at all. The Hyatt is the other Resort that I have read has come up through Priceline. I don't know how much this helps. Does anyone else have any experience with using Priceline for Grand Cayman? I am also wondering if there is the possibility of receiving a Resort property that's not on Seven Mile Beach since there are no zones for Grand Cayman. thanks!
