  1. Started at 70 dollars and added zones and 2 dollars at each attempt. I finally got the Marriott at 92$. Total for two nights including taxes and fees is USD 225.48. Very happy with this win.
  2. We had been trying to complete our stay via priceline (the remaining three nights of a five night stay where the last two nights were won over hotwire, see my previous post). No success with bids up to 195$+. Today, we saw a property on hotwire that went down overnight from $212 to $182 and decided to book. It turned out to be, as we had thought, the Intercontinental The Barclay. We are very happy with the win and are looking forward to our stay. Amenities: Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Recommended by 90%
  3. We have been trying to book a room for some time via both priceline and hotwire for the period May 9th-14th without much success (4*-3.5* bids up to 190$ rejected on PL, no interesting deals on HW for the whole stay), so we decided to split up the stay in two pieces and the 100% recommended on a property in the ESB area caught our eye, so we decided to book it. It turned out to be the Hilton Garden Inn on 35th Street. We are not saving much compared to a direct booking (approximately 10$) but are very happy about the win since we would never have considered this property without the 100% recommenden hint on Hotwire. Amenities are: Free Internet Smoke Free Rooms Business Center Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower Total including taxes for two nights: USD 441.48 Now we will study what to do for the remaining three nights at the beginning of the trip. We will probably give priceline a try.

  5. Was looking for a hotel for one night at the end of our roadtrip in the Southwest and found this 4.5 star hotel in North Scottsdale. Thought it may be the Hyatt Regency and turned out to be exactly this hotel. Very happy with the result. Great property and unbeatable price (hotel own rate was $270+).
  6. Bid a couple of times for NYC midtown areas going up to $175 for 4* and $155 for 3.5* without success. I then decided to give a try at Jersey City and scored the Westin Newport at the last rebid attempt (started at $100 and added $5 at each rebid). Very happy with this win, as I save more or less 50% (official rate is $259+). Offer Price: $131.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: $393.00 Taxes & Fees: $72.60 Total Charged to Card: $465.60
  7. We needed one room for one night in either Hollywood, BH or Santa Monica. Started bidding at $100 4 stars and went up to 135$ when I scored the Hotel Angeleno. Room Subtotal: $135.00 Taxes & Fees: $28.87 Total Charged to Card: $163.87 Not a huge saving since you can have it from the hotel directly at $161 + tax, but nevertheless happy with this win. I of course used the PRICELINE link before starting with the bidding.
  8. After some unsuccessful bids, I waited a couple of weeks before submitting a new bid today. Started at $100 for 4 stars in Millenium Park/Loop/Grant Park and added free re-bid zones, increasing $10 at each time. At the fourth bid I got the Blackstone Renaissance Chicago for $130 ($130 x 3 nights + tax $74.10 = $464.10). In the previous bid rounds I won nothing up to $150. Given that the "normal" rate for this hotel is $299 + tax for the period in question, I am very happy about this win (savings around 55%).
  9. Sure. Amenities: Fitness center, high speed internet access.
  10. Saw this hotel after a few unsuccessful bids on Priceline and found a great rate. As others have pointed out it was showing 90% recommendation which turned into "we are still gathering reviews" later. Very pleased about the win. I used the HOTWIRE link on this site to start the purchase.
  11. Dear all it's my first time posting but have been reading through the forum and the amount of information is great. I am trying to bid for one room in Chicago, either MP/Loop/Grant Park or North Michigan Ave, for April 21-24 but haven't had any luck so far. I have bid up to $120 for the 4* and $100 for the 3.5* adding all re-bid zones and increasing the bid step by step. I have now booked a refundable room at the BW River North which will cost me $140 per night as a back-up in case nothing shows up on PL. Is there anything special going on in Chicago during this weekend? Or is it simply too early to bid (I saw most wins on the forum to be for March/early April)? Thanks a lot for your help. PS: I haven't used the links for my last bid round but promise to do so for the next bids :)
