  1. Just won: Hilton Oak Lawn 3-star Midway Airport Area 9333 South Cicero Avenue Oak Lawn, Illinois 60453 708-425-7800 Check-In Date: Wed, Jul 23, 2008 / After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Thu, Jul 24, 2008 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $75.00 Subtotal: $75.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $18.94 Total Charges*: $93.94 My bidding was as follows: 3* Midway Airport Area $50 NOT ACCEPTED added Lincoln Park as rebid zone $75 ACCEPTED ** if you book that night on their web site, the total would be $152.90 so I'm thinking that I could have gone lower than $75 on my 2nd bid. I only went so high because there was only 1 rebid zone. Also I'm leaving town tomorrow and won't have internet access again until I check into the hotel so I would not have had another shot at it.
  2. It sure is looking that way.... I am flying into IAH on a return trip from the Caribbean - I get in at 7pm and then take my final leg home to Denver at 7am the following day. I suppose a 2.5* would be sufficient - do you think I can land one of those for under $50? Dropping into the 2* range sounds sketchy to me. Any oppinions?
  3. Well, I started at $40 for a 3 or 4*. I was rejected and used the rebid zones to bid $45, $50, $55, $60, $70 and $80. Rejected for all those as well. I'll try again in a few weeks with higher bids but it looks like the Country Inn and the Holiday express are both around $99+tax. Are these Priceline 3*?
  4. With that said, I would be thrilled to get a 3* in the $50 range (or less). And a 4* for under $75 would be acceptable as well. Thanks.
  5. Greetings, I'm hoping to get a nicer hotel at the airport (George Bush) for the night of 1/24/2007 for under $100. If it has to be a 3* or below, I'd like to keep the price around $50-$60. I'm not sure what people typically are able to get through priceline this time of year so if my expectations are way off (too high or too low), please let me know. Anyway, any bidding assistance would be greatly appreciated. Also does anyone know if most of the hotels at the airport offer free shuttle service? And if not how much I might expect to pay for a shuttle or cab? Thanks, -dave

  7. there will be 3 of us so 2 beds will be needed. there is no way to guarantee that through priceline is there?
  8. sorry, i posted it in a new thread shall I add it to the other one as well?
  9. Hi, Hotwire is listing a 3.5* hotel in Midtown East for $171. The only amenities listed are a fittness center and busniess center. The price is right and the location is fine. I just need to make sure it's not a dilapidated shoebox (my girlfriend becomes quite hostile when this is the case ;-) Any ideas as to what hotel this may be?
  10. As suggested by the forum, I tried Select 4* NMA... Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone1... Bid $70, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 4* NMA and re-bid zone2... Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone1... Bid $80, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 4* Loop... Select 4* Loop and NMA... Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone1... Bid $90, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. Select 4* NMA and re-bid zone2... Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone1... Bid $100. All were rejected. A few days l was rejected at $110, $120 $125 and $130 for nma, adding rebid zones 1 and 2 rejected at $130 for loop. and finally successful at $141 with rebid zone 1. Hotel: Renaissance Chicago Hotel One West Wacker Drive Chicago, Illinois 60601 United States 312-372-7200 Check-In Date: Saturday, August 20, 2005 Check-Out Date: Sunday, August 21, 2005
  11. I guess I'd like something under $100. Looks like people have been doing pretty well in the $80-$90 range. The cheaper, the better - obviously. As far as rebid zones go, I believe my zones would be Skokie and Midway as I don't believe they have 4* hotels. Is this on the right track?
  12. Hi, I am looking for a 4* room in North Michigan Ave - River North Area or Millennium Park for the night of 8/20. I'm pretty new to all this, so any assistance regarding a starting point for bidding would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -dave
