Thanks for your help and suggestions. The SPSP 2013 congress is on Jan 17-19, so that might account for some of the limited availability. We have yet to find somewhere for the weekend portion of our trip (Jan 18-20 incl.). Was hoping to get lucky and not to go above $100 for centrally located 3.5/4* hotels, but it seems that we may have to! Fingers crossed....

We made too many bids to list here; staying in Nola from jan 16-23, but had to break trip up, so this win was for jan 21-23, $77/night. Tried to add nights to trip, but was unsuccessful. (Had another priceline win for first 2 days of trip, but still need to find somewhere for the weekend....seems like it might be a pretty busy weekend in Nola, but we'll keep trying). Treme

Hi all! We're trying to book a room in Nola (4* FQ, Downtown, and Arts/Warehouse); we've entered a few bids ($65-$82) based on some winning prices posted here). We also broke the trip up into a 3-day and 4-day stay, but still no joy! It's just around the start of the Mardi Gras season, so does anyone know whether this time of the year (mid-late Jan) is a difficult time to get good deals on Priceline? Hi..in the meantime had some success.... Mar 14,15 - 4* Marriott Convention Centre: $78 per night. Mar 16-21 - 4* Sheraton, Canal St: $90 per night. I could have chosen to extend my stay at the Sheraton to include the first 2 days at the same rate, but decided it would be nice to try another hotel, and would also gave me a chance to get a lower rate.
