  1. Yes, best strategy is to keep trying. You should have more success closer to the date.
  2. I did on May 5. If you're referring to the generic message when you sign up I didn't know that needed replying to. Is that what you're referring to?
  3. I stayed at this hotel once through PRICELINE. It is a small hotel and pretty far from everything as it is more in a business area. That is a little deceiving if priceline did that. When I got there, we got such a cramped room where the bed took up the whole space, but when we went back and asked for a bigger room they accommodated us without extra charge and it was pretty nice. Question, did priceline allow you to cancel or was it the hotel?
  4. Forgot to post this a while back. Here are the details of my las vegas win for new years eve. Keep in mind the prices at all hotels were marked up and this was done at the last minute and most hotels were booked. Hotel Four Seasons Zone The Strip South Area Star Level 5 star Dates Dec 31, 2012 to Jan 01, 2013 Price $436.81 (canadian $) Amenities Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  5. Forgot to add that you can still bid now and leading up to the date. Start in like 120's and work your way up to around 160. If it gets accepted, great, if not keep trying.
  6. Hi. I would suggest trying 1-2wks before travel. Just to give you an idea, for two years in a row I have booked NYC for the July long weekend which you would think would be super expensive, but i got the priceline rated 4-star hotels for around $150/night by bidding 1-2wks ahead of the trip. This year, I will be going for about a week during the time you will be there. I won't be bidding until very close to the date.
  7. You are bidding too far in advance. I would wait until closer to the date and then bid. Lower bids will be accepted at that point.
  8. ok, the first strategy got rejected. I think mainly because of NYE hotels being sold out. So I was reading on the board and decided to try splitting up the days Dec31 and Jan1-4. I got the Vdara for $80/night per room from Jan1 -4. Unfortunately, it was sold out on the 31st. So after having my bids rejected upto $400, I decided to just go to hotwire and get the Four Seasons for $444 for the one night (Expensive! lol). Thanks for all the help. :)
  9. Yes, it was per room. Thanks, I will give it a shot and let you know how it goes.
  10. Thanks for all the info. Very helpful. Here are the answers to your questions. Yes, any 5* hotel in Las Vegas Strip Vicinity South is acceptable. Kitchenette is not a must. I guess I can't be picky when i'm saving money. I will bid on the 2 rooms at once. I would like to stick to $175 as a maximum bid if that's possible. Will do!
  11. Hi, just replied to it. Sorry for not responding to it. Thanks for your help! :)
  12. Hi, thanks for the help and sorry for responding so late. I actually ended up staying at the hotel without going through PRICELINE / HOTWIRE because of a promotion i saw they were having. Thanks again.
  13. Hi, I am looking for a 5* hotel on the strip. I clicked on the BiddingHelper.com link and I understand that 3 out of 14 areas have 5* hotels so I can pretty much rebid several times. The only thing is, I prefer a hotel like Vdara because it has a kitchenette. I am also not sure where I should start my bids at? I saw someone got the Wynn Hotel during my dates for $72 I believe. Does that mean I should start at $60? Also, can i bid for multiple rooms at the same time? If so, will the price i'm bidding on be per room or for both together? I am looking for the South area of the strip and here are the details: Hotel: 5 star Area: Preferably Las Vegas Strip Vicinity South Dates: Dec 31 to Jan 4 Rooms: 2 rooms x 2 persons each Thanks, Rick
  14. Hi, Palomar is preferred, but if there's no way of trying to single it out then I can accept any 4 star hotel downtown. Thanks.
  15. Hi, I am looking for a specific hotel and wondering what's the best bidding strategy. Here are the details: Hotel: Palomar Stars: 4 Location: Downtown City: Philadelphia Dates: Dec27 to 29 Budget: upto $130, but would prefer alot lower if possible Thanks!
