  1. Hi, I have just managed to get the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point for $150 per night from 30th Jan to 4th Feb. :) (using the PRICELINE link) The total for 5 night inc tax is $853.85 plus there is a $20 per night resort fee. The hotel does have a promotion on at the moment offering the 4th night free but it still came in at over $1200 so I am really pleased with my price. I first tried bidding on Sunday and went up in $5 increments to $140 by using the 9 re-bid zones in the area- without any success. I could have been given a resort on Marco Island but would have been just as pleased if I had so it was no problem. These are the only two zones that have resort hotels so the re-bidding was easy. So I had another go tonight, started at $120 and it was accepted at $150. It also gave me the option to buy additional nights at the same price but unfortunately we fly home to the UK on the 4th. Hope this helps
  2. I want to book a Miami hotel for 3 nights from July 19th( not due to fly in until 11pm). We will have our 2 teenagers with us and was wondering if we would be able to book one room? We have never been to Miami and have no idea which area to try for- was considering the Miami beach or Coral Gables area and liked the look of the Bal Harbour resort but often choose a Hyatt. Would appreciate any advice!
  3. Hi again, Just though i'd send an update of my trip.....we checked in at the Hyatt on July 22nd.....no mention of Priceline...gave us a lovely room with 2 double beds, it was overlooking the city as opposed the bay but it was still great. We then had a problem with our accommodation for our second week of our holiday (31st July -6th Aug)so I went back to Priceline UK to see if I could again book the Hyatt and using the same formula as above I booked the Hyatt for 4 nights from 1st August for
  4. Hi again, Just thought I'd let you know the outcome of our trip. We stayed at the Beekman for 4 nights, checking in with our son was no problem..they had to send housekeeping to make up the sofa bed and there was no mention of the room being booked for only 2 people. We arrived at about 11am and asked to check in early, they couldn't accommodate us then but suggested we went for brunch and our room was ready on our return. The room was a little tired looking but very spacious for new york and the staff were very helpful. We took a taxi from Le Guardia to the hotel $28 plus tip and the concierge booked a private car for our return to JFK $55 plus tip. A taxi may have been slightly cheaper but as they charge by the meter going to JFK (fixed price of $45 plus tolls & tip from JFK)it could have worked out just as expensive because the traffic late afternoon was very heavy and it took us about 1hr 15mins to get to the airport. hope this info helps somebody!!
  5. Thanks again for all your help...much appreciated.
  6. Would you believe it...within 5 minutes of me re-mailing the request for 2 beds I had a reply to the 1st one( :) Sent 3 days ago)... stating they will do their best to accommodate my request but no guarantees.
  7. Hi again, This time difference is catching me out! I also calculate the winning bid to be about $81-$82. I did make my request for 2 doubles to the hotel but it was via an e-mail link on my confirmation so i've now contacted the hotel direct from thier web site ...quoteing my gold passport no.....so fingers crossed! ( or my son will be sleeping in the bath!!)
  8. Hi again, My husband, 14yr old son and myself are flying in from Tampa to LGA at about 10.45am on the 6th and then out of JFK to London(boo hoo going home!) on the 10th at 8pm. Will appreciate any suggestions!
  9. :) Thanks very much! I have posted the info re Tampa on the Florida link and you helped me to finally make up my mind about New York. I decided not to take the chance with a hotel room and have just booked the Beekman Tower through your link. Four night total inc taxes and fees = $877.76 for August 6th-10th. I should be able to get some sleep tonight! Any advice on getting to and from the airports? Last time we used the shuttle bus to Grand Central but shouldn't think that'll be any good this time.
  10. :) Unable to use Priceline.com because it would not accept my phone no(I'm from UK) I changed the state and zip code to 99999 but no luck with the phone no. so I used PL.UK as follows 1st bid......4* Tampa airport & Westshore
  11. :) Help please! My husband, 14yr old son and myself fly into LGA on August 6th and fly out of JFK on the 10th. I am looking for a comfortable CLEAN, 4* hotel that will accommodate us in 1 room. I have only used Priceline once, 2 days ago when I got the Hyatt Tampa Bay for 22nd July via Priceline UK (we are from the UK & couldn't use the American site as it would not accept my phone no!!) but the hotel has not yet replied to my request for 2 beds. I have never used Hotwire and at the moment the cheapest 4* is $244 As it's New York I am worried that the allocated hotel via Priceline won't accommodate our request for 2 beds and how we will then manage?(my son is a very tall 14 yr old). We have stayed at the Grand Hyatt NY before-2 double bed, booked via their own website but they still allocated a king on arrival. Luckily they did change it for us. I have also seen the Administrator recommending the Beekman Towers- which look really nice and roomy-but could they give us a studio suite? and is it a bit out of the way? Please Please help me- I'll need a holiday after all this stress!
