thanks to the tips and info on this board/forum, I just successfully made my first online bid for a hotel, and I am very happy with the results! :) Traveling in the spring and also including a Friday night, so I expected to pay a bit higher price. Priceline has this hotel listed for those dates at $242 regular Priceline deal, but currently on sale for $205. HOTWIRE had an unnamed hotel - what I suspected was the Sheraton OSJ - for $89, so I went on PRICELINE and tried $79, zone 8, 3.5 & 4* -- which was rejected. somewhere around here I read to try to bid one dollar above a number divisible by 10, so I then changed my bid to: $81 and added Cabo Rojo zone 2, (which ONLY had 1 & 2* hotels) and won the bid. And, of course I went through the BetterBidding link to PRICELINE to do my bidding! Thanks, BB!
