Brooklyn, or Queens is ok.. would like to use the subway to go to the city.. can we find something 3* or upper in this area? with our budget

ive seen some 2 * in brooklyn around 100 - 150$.. in Expedia i was hoping we could get a 3 * with priceline.. no car..

then 3 * stars it's ok.. brooklyn or anyplace not so far away from the city would be nice

anything above 3 would be acceptable.. maybe a 2 star with private bathroom in a good location (manhattan) do you think it would be better to have a higher star hotel but outside manhattan can you please recommend us something as we have never been in NY.. we are just 2 people and need a clean room on a safe area . we are traveling on a low budget and need to save $ thank you we apreciate your help
