  1. Purchased the HOTWIRE 4 1/2* Bid instead FOR $105 and got VIBE HOTEL. Near Beach, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), High-Speed Internet Access Very happy with it because it has good review. Thanks
  2. Hi. We need a hotel in gold coast from 10 to 17 oct 2012. Does anyone know of what hotels are being offered in the region and the best price to bid. We hope to get 5 star at surfers paradise or broadbeach. Is it easier to book the entire 7 days or break into 2. We are fine with one hotel switch. Any help or info is greatly appreciated. Thanks..
  3. Thanks for your advice. I was worried it will be Crowne Plaza as it is not near a T station. And I've changed the date to 26 Sep 2011, which does not have the price you mentioned for the Airport hotel :) So I purchased the $108 2* 80% Recommendation for Back Bay Copley Square Area and got Boston Hotel Buckminister. Amenities Complimentary Breakfast, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby. Thanks so much for your help. Much appreciated.
  4. The Brooklyn-Newton Harvard Area offering on HOTWIRE $113 for 3* has 65% recommendation and has fitness centre, pool, restaurant, biz centre, internet The Charlestown Bunker Hill Area $115 for 2* has 75% recommendation and has smokefree, fitness centre, pool, restaurant, biz center, laundry, internet access, tennis nearby. Trying to decide which is better in terms of convenience. Thanks.
  5. Thanks so much for your suggestion and prompt response. May I know what Brooklyn-Newton Harvard Area offering on HOTWIRE $113 for 3* is better or a Charlestown Bunker Hill Area $115 for 2*?
  6. Hi.. Am so grateful to this forum for all the help given me for my New York trip. Would be most grateful if you can help me suggest bidding hotel for 28 Sep 2011. I have to travel to South Station in Boston on 29 Sep. Any suggestion for bid area where I can get a hotel within subway that is around $100? I just need it to be near a T station. Don't need to be near attractions. No requirement on the star rating too.
  7. With info given by this forum by thereuare, using the PRICELINE link in this forum: Select 4* Jersey City... Bid $85, rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $90, rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $95, rejected add re-bid zone.. Bid $100, rejected add re-bid zone.. Bid $125, rejected add re-bid zone.. Bid $130 won Westin! Thanks.
  8. Thanks so much for all your help. I bidded for 4* and got Westin at $130! That is a great deal for $2 more than the Sheraton I got :) I'll post the win on a new topic for the record as before.
  9. Purchased Hotwire 4* Hoboken - Jersey City area hotel for $128 for 29 Sep and got Sheraton Lincoln Harbour. Amenities: Suite, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access
  10. Thanks for your really helpful advice. Would really appreciate if you could please advise strategy for bidding the 4*, maximum $138. And for 3* maximum $120? Thanks so much ..
  11. I purchased Hotwire 4* Hoboken - Jersey City area hotel for $128 for 29 Sep and got Sheraton Lincoln Harbour. Amenities: Suite, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access It is a good hotel but bit worried that it is not as convenient as it is not near PATH. I do not see anything in this price range for the subsequent days of my trip. May I know if 3* hotels are near PATH for the Hoboken-Jersey City? What would be the bid price range for them? Thanks.
  12. I was offered to increase my bid to $150 for Jersey City for 4*, which is more than what I want to spend. I see Candlewood Suites Jersey City looks a good place to me, it is only 2*, but as you mentioned, if I bid a 2* I may end up much further from PATH. So if I want to stay near PATH, the least I should go is 3*?
  13. Thanks for your patience and explanation. I'm bit lost as it's first time I'm trying to organize a trip to U.S. :-) I've got I think a great deal in Hotwire. Spotted a Super Savings for 26 Sep $117 3* Hotel BOSTON COMMON - THEATRE DISTRICT and I got the Raddison! Amenities are Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby. Now got to look out for another deal for the 27 Sep.
  14. The Howard Johnson Inn in LIC is available for flexible booking at $130. So I was hoping bidding may get me lower than that. But I don't want to end up with an rundown bed bugs place. The max in LIC I was hoping for $100. I thought that would be cheaper than a Hoboken-Jersey 4*, lower than 4* in Jersey area seems to have hotels which are farther away and not so desirable. Thanks
  15. Thanks for your reply. What is the minimum bid for a 3* hotel? And for a 2* hotel? I am ok with really small rooms, my main concern is should be clean without bed bugs. So is the minimum clean hotel is a 2* or can I go lower? I'm hoping for a budget of < $100. Thanks.
  16. Need help to get hotel in Boston 25-27 Sep 11. 2 of us, anywhere within 15 minutes walk of subway. Can around city easily. Clean. Small rooms fine. Looking at keeping budget low. Any advice? Thanks.
  17. My travel dates in NY is now 29 Sep to 4 Oct 2011. I tried bidding number of times unsuccessfully, including $105 for a 3* in Long Island City. I am considering Howard Johnson Inn or Verve Hotel in Long Island City. The retail price range from 129 to 170. Would appreciate advice on what's the lowest price I can go for this? And I guess I have to go for 2* or 2.5* in that area? Thanks.
  18. It is Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, High-speed Internet Access. (Not the 75% Recommended but the 90% Recommended one, not the one with SPA, nor the one with Resort). Hope this is useful.
  19. I took a chance and purchsed the Hotwire $90 4* 90% Recommended Hotel for 21 - 23 Sep and it turns out to be Doubletree Fallsview Resort & Spa. It has good reviews for the hotel so I'm glad. However, for the booking, I only saved $12 for the 2 nights compared to booking a low floor room on Doubletree website. Hopefully I'll get a higher floor room when I check in :-)
  20. Thanks .. I'm so envious .. jrjcollins you've really got a great win.. I bidded up to $80 but no luck. Don't know rates for Sept 24 seems extra high :)
  21. Thanks for your response. The 75% recommendation has changed to 90% for $89, not sure if it is the same one, it has Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, biz ctr, internet. Any idea which this is? Can I get a better deal bidding on Priceline? What would be the bidding price for 4* in the Fall? There is another 4* on weekend with SPA, smoke-free, restaurant, internet. Any idea what this is?
  22. There is also a 3* hotel Niagara Falls, Ontario - West area hotel (0.0 - 2.0 mi from city center) 80% recommended on Hotwire. Any idea which is this? Is that area convenient if I do not drive? Thanks.
  23. Hi.. I need to book a room for 2 at Niagara Falls from 21 to 24 Sept 2011. I see a 4* hotel Niagara Falls, Ontario area hotel (2.2 - 4.5 mi from city center) but only 75% recommended. Any idea what hotel is this? What is the least price I can bid to get a nice hotel facing the falls? Do I bid specifying the entire dates of my stay. Appreciate any advice on this :)
  24. Thanks everyone. I managed to purchase my airtickets on Priceline :) However my dates for hotel at Buffalo Airport has changed to 24 Sep 11 for 1 night. The price seems very high for that day. I bidded unsuccessfully below $80 for 3* for BUF in PRICELINE. May I know when I do a list view of the hotels under the various * category, there were 5 3* hotels and 3 2.5* hotels, are these the same ones that will be in the PRICE BID? Or will there with additional that I don't see in the List View? Thanks
