I won a bid for the North Charleston Airport area for the Holiday Inn Charleston Airport & Convention Center. Now that I am looking back over what I got versus the advertised priceline price and star rating of the hotel I am not sure how great a deal I got. I signed up with priceline to get notifications of winning bids for 3.5 star hotels for the week of my travel. I sent in bids that were in line with what other people were bidding based on the priceline notifications. Those bids did not work so I had to log out come back to this site so that I could use the PRICELINE link and start over. I eventually bid $70 for 3 star hotels in the North Charleston Airport area for this busy weekend when there was a major event at the Coliseum that I also had to attend. Priceline on its page ranks this hotel as 2.5 so I am not sure how I got there because I would not bid $70 on a 2.5* hotel. At the time was grateful since it was actually one of the hotels I needed to be in for the conference I was attending. No idea how I got into this hotel, but I am still grateful since most things were booked due to the tax free weekend and this hotels location right next to the Outlet entrance and Coliseum entrance and I had to be in this area. I wish I could be more helpful with this post but I don't know how I got this hotel and did not stay longer since it was not quite what I wanted but was what I needed. S/N is there any purpose of using those priceline suggested bid prices if its going to just randomly drop you into a 2.5 star level when you wanted 3.5 and settled for what you thought was 3 just to be in the Airport area.
