I got this hotel today, after weeks of watching and waiting: Amenities: Resort, Pet friendly, Near beach, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Tennis nearby, Spa services, Children's activities, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower. I was pretty sure this was the one we'd get, and I'm quite happy to. We wanted a spot on the beach for our after-cruise 1 day stay before flying back to "the real life" :-)

I sent email to Hotwire support, and then called their Support. Neither was very fruitful; despite clarifying my question twice they still didn't seem to know what I was asking. When I called I was just told "there must not be any hotels available in that area for that time period". I guess I'll just keep trying since I have nearly 2 months before our trip.

I think this just started today (Oct 9, 2014) but the Ft Lauderdale Beach area cannot be selected on Hot.wire. Has anyone else encountered that? Is it a permanent change, or is there website just being glitchy? Thanks.

I've been watching for a place to stay the night before our cruise for several weeks and this morning got this great deal. Amenities: Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Airport Shuttle, Smoke Free Rooms, Self service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower.

We were looking for something close to Syracuse University to drop off our freshman daughter for her first semester and were very happy to win the Maplewood Inn in Liverpool, just a couple of miles away for $80 (plus $20.83 in taxes and fees).

Got the 2* Ramada Inn and Suites SEATAC on my first try at $45 (plus taxes and fees = $58.76). Too bad their airport shuttle is no longer free.

First bid for $50 for a 2* in Victoria BC was accepted for the Super 8 near, but not in, downtown Victoria.
