  2. 3. Thought I would add that the manager contacted me upon reading a review of mine on trip advisor. He indicated that it wasn't the policy of the HIE New Tampa to charge differences between smoking and non-smoking rooms and that Priceline users should have the same courtesy extended as their highest paying customers. Apparently it was just a mistake made by a new employee. There are some inherent risks with Priceline with the smoking room issues especially in full hotels and checking in late at night. I would advise checking in as early as possible and have some faith that the larger chain hotel partners with Priceline will typically treat you right. He refunded my added charge and was pleasant to deal with. Mark
  4. Priceline.Express Deal accepted for Tampa (New Tampa - Tampa Palms) ended up being the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Tampa I75 @ Bruce B.Downs. Free BreakfastFree InternetIndoor or Outdoor PoolFree ParkingPets AllowedFitness CenterWas looking for a decent overnight prior to an early flight out of TPA the next morning. Tampa was very full that night. I felt a little fleeced by the operator as we called to try to reserve a non-smoking room and they told us there were 2 available but it would be another $22 which we paid begrudgingly. I understand there is always a risk of getting a smoking room where they occur but I've never been up-charged before when non-smoking rooms were available. It wasn't an upgrade or a suite, just a change to non-smoking. :( It was just ok, room had a strong cleaning smell, and we had to leave before free breakfast started. Found out later it is somehow rated #1 hotel in Tampa on Trip Advisor It was just ok, room had a strong cleaning smell, and we had to leave before free breakfast started. Found out later it is somehow rated #1 hotel in Tampa on Trip Advisor Room Cost per room night $93.00 /per room night Rooms 1 Nights 1 Taxes and Fees $19.84 Total Charges $112.84
  5. I don't believe this one was on the Hotwire list in this Zone - St. Petersburg - Clearwater (St. Petersburg - Airport PIE) Found out it was the Hilton St. Petersburg Carillon Park. 1 night HOTWIRE Hot Rate Room@ $124.00/night $124.00 Tax recovery charges & fees: $26.40 Subtotal: $150.40 FULL AMENITIES: Free Parking, Free Internet, Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower Was given a lakeside view, room had a walkout balcony, a nice stay. Price reflected a pretty full night in the Tampa/St. Pete area on a Friday night.
  6. I think you're right about the ID Hyatt Coconut. I reviewed bids several times daily and while it dipped as low as $200 or so I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger at that number. Ended up feeling priced out of this market in the high season with 3+ to 4 * easily going to $250 to $400+ from Bonita Bay to Marco Island. I'd like to visit this area again Sept to Nov when prices are more affordable. Stayed in Fort Myers rather with a win prior Priceline hotel win for the Crown Plaza Belltower Fort Myers $115 (As I'm sitting in the Hyatt Place now I must say I prefer the rooms here though there is nothing else in walking distance, it's a short drive to the Forum area shops I could afford some risk and did some same day searching with an alternative to head north to Orlando early if too expensive. I ended up accepting a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal for 2 nights at the Hyatt Place I-75 North for $117 for consecutive nights 2/19-2/21 My wife loves when I come out of my war-room mode with a deal and our vacation would not have been possible or as enjoyable without these tools. Now unto Orlando! Thanks! Mark
  7. Ended up feeling priced out of this market in the high season with 3+ to 4 * easily going to $250 to $400+. Stayed in Fort Myers rather with a win posted with Priceline for the Crown Plaza Belltower Fort Myers $115 My risk tolerance for leaving the are due to price was low so I could accept some same day offers and ended up accepting a priceline Express Deal for 2 nights at the Hyatt Place I-75 North for $117 for consecutive nights 2/19-2/21 My vacation would not have been possible without these tools. Now unto Orlando! Thanks! Mark
  8. Amazing how much the board changes. I wasn't too into paying $180 for the Indigo and fortunately a Priceline Express Deal came open for a target property Hyatt Place in the I-75 North zone in Fort Myers for two nights 2/19-2/21 at $114. Keep in mind this is high season in SW Florida and seasonal rate for the Hyatt Place and nearby Holiday Inn Express was $250+ nightly. Thanks, Eric

  10. In an attempt to add zones for a 3* trying for a possible Hyatt Place at the Forum or Wyndham Gardens in Fort Myers beach I added an inaccurate zone as Fort Myers instead of Fort Myers Beach. I ended up with a win on the Crown Plaza Fort Myers Belltower for 2/18-2/19. W $115 + $21.52 tax/fees = $136.52 When you review this in the future, keep in mind it's high season in S Florida. Good discount anyway, I'll follow up with how it was. Mark

  15. Not finding a match for these amenities for a 4* in Bonita Bay / North Naples. Could this be the Trianon moving up to 4* or another added hotel? Thanks, Mark 4* Bonita Bay / North Naples Free Breakfast Free Internet Boutique Hotel Near Beach Fitness Center Pool Business Center Tennis Nearby
