Lorien Hotel & Spa 1600 King Street, Alexandria, VA, 22314 (703) 894-3434 Wasn't in the list of hotels for Alexandria/Old Town, but had a pretty good hunch before I purchased that it was this hotel. There aren't many (if any?) other hotels in Old Town with a spa. Great rate - as it's going for $139.00/night right now. Note, however, that parking is $25/night - valet is the only option. There's lots of other options though, i.e., park at the Eisenhower metro (free on weekends) and take the train north to King Street Metro. Hotel is only about six months old, so hopefully it is nice. I got the 4* Airport Hilton on a psuedo last-minute bid for this weekend. (Bid on 6/2/05) The average price of the 4* hotels went from $102 to 104 during my bidding. Originally offered $42, Priceline came back with a counteroffer for $12 more. I ignored this and added Union City area as a free rebid. Then bid $46, and the offer was accepted for 2 nights.
