I booked this 3.5* referenced above for 5/08/12 - 5/11/12 for $112. It turned out to be the Grand Oasis Palm All-Inclusive.
Used HOTWIRE link. Thanks for your help!
It's 5/21-5/23. My dates are 5/08-5/24, but I already have a 7 night reservation in the middle of those dates. Hence, I've been looking for accommodations at the beginning and tail end of those dates. Sorry for the confusion!
I went ahead and got the last two nights actually. 5/21-5/23 and the rate went down by one dollar, so $96.
Thanks for the help. I just used the HOTWIRE link to book 2 nights. It was indeed the Riu Lupita. I'll post back with an update when I book more of my trip. Thanks!
Thanks for the help. I investigated your guesses, and they seem very plausible (especially the Riu, since it is "near beach").
On the Hotwire strategy of bidding 1 day first, would you be able to contact the hotel in advance of your stay to ensure the two reservations are in the same room (i.e., if one were to have a 1 night reservation and a 3 night reservation but didn't want to deal with changing rooms after a day?)?
I've been trying to figure out possible matches for a couple all-inclusive properties on Hotwire. Also, is there any reason not to book 1 night through hotwire to find out what the hotel is and then book again once you find out? Thanks (clicked on the links as well).

Thanks for the help! I clicked the ref link, and I hope it credits properly. I will be telling others about the forum!
Ended up with the 4* Loews Regency for $111 in CPS (noticed someone bagged it for $110 recently so I just bid $111).
I liked the downtown area after a few visits, and it seems that is a little cheaper that midtown? I noticed in some of your posts you mention subway distances --- which zones have the least hotels that are far from subways?
I'd probably like to get a 3-4* for $100-$125. This seems possible in Downtown from browsing the forums a bit. I'm not really sure how the bidding works though. If I select 3* does that bid for 3, 3.5, and 4? What other details are important?
Thanks!
--it looks like the Courtyard SoHo has been won for around $95 and it is 1 block from the subway. What other hotels may be won at this level? --edit
I've taken some day trips to NYC from Philadelphia, but want to spend one night in Manhattan this time. I'm not picky about location or amenities - just looking for something reasonably priced. Also, I have never used Priceline. How exactly do I go about the bidding process? I browsed the forums a bit and saw people getting places for about $100-$150 with Priceline. Is this possible for one night? I briefly looked at the 2* hotels on the list here on the forums and they all looked really good to me....what is the difference between the * levels?
Thanks!
Place: Manhattan (any zone really)
Cost: $100-$150?
Time: 1 night (April 1-April 2)
