On my very first try using Priceline, I put in a bid for $65 for last Friday and Saturday, February 25 and 26 for a 3 1/2 star Stamford area hotel. The only one in Greenwich is the Hyatt, which is fine, and the only three in Stamford are the Hilton, Marriott, and Holiday Inn, I believe. I was surprised but pleased that my price was accepted at the Marriott, my favorite by a neck over the Hilton. There is a feature as you enter your bid that seems to guide you: when you enter your bid in the orange box, one of two warnings will appear in a wide rectangular pop up box just below if your bid is too low. I checked it in $5 increments starting at $5, and it went away at about 40 or 45, I cannot quite remember. I was a very happy camper!
