  1. Thanks for the reply! We ended up only needing 1night and another hotel popped up for $145/night in the Gulch area. It ended up being The Westin with these amenities:

Restaurant, Pool, Indoor Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Spa, Pet Friendly

We are very happy with this win and loom forward to our stay! Any idea if our gold status with SPG will be able to be used for an upgrade/free breakfast?

  2. We changed our travel plans and are heading out a day early ahead of the winter storm coming through the Northeast. We need a hotel room in London Tuesday the 14th for 1 night. Any idea what this hotel would be? 4* for $163 in the Westminster-Victoria-Big Ben area. 100% recommended, 4.9/5 guest rating, 4.5 tripadvisor with these amenities:

    Smoke-free rooms

    Fitness center

    Restaurant(s)

    Business center

    Self-service laundry

    Internet access

    Spa services

    Children's activities

    Accessible for hearing impaired

    Accessible path of travel

    In-room accessibility

    Accessible bathroom

    Roll-in shower

  3. We came *thisclose* to booking through Hotwire, but in the end we ended up finding a great rate directly through a hotel. Lowe's wouldn't have been our first choice and we got the same rate booking directly. It's hard to take a chance with that much money when you have a sure thing! Thanks, as always, for the help!

  4. We are ready to book something in the LA area. Only need double occupancy and we decided to check out Santa Monica because it seems like it might be less hectic than staying in other areas of LA. We aren't set on this area though. We looked at Bev Hills and West Hollywood as well. We plan to stay 2 nights in whatever hotel we end up with. The PCH is a possibility, but we would head out during the day and return at night. No plans at all really. Just want a nice safe area to stay in for a couple of nights.

I searched through the link you left above for the SM hotel and it gave these as amenities: Free InternetPet friendlyBeachfront hotelSmoke-free roomsFitness centerPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business center.

As I said, we aren't stuck on SM so if you see any other good deals in safe areas we'd be open to those. Thanks for all the help!

  5. Hi, we are looking at staying in the Santa Monica area next week 3/5-3/7 and could use some insight to the hotels in the area. I've been looking for several weeks on HOTWIRE and the same hotels seem to be showing up. The one I'm interested in is a 4* with free internet, beachfront, business center, fitness, pet friendly, pool, restaurant and smoke free rooms. It's $286 per night ($418 reg price) 95% rec and 4/5 TA rating. Any ideas?? I've never been to LA before so if you have any other suggestions I'm open to those as well. We are staying on at the end of a conference for a few days to relax. Not into clubs or star gazing and driving the PCH is a possibility. We'd like to keep it around $350 or less per night with all taxes and fees. Thanks!

  6. I don't see that hotel being available for those dates anymore. We are a bit flexible with our dates because my husband is taking the week off and we are just planning to be gone for 4 nights. Ideally M-F or T-S. Sorry for any confusion! I searched for 10/29-10/3 (T-S) and came up with this one. I don think it's the same as the one I was asking about previously. It's a 4* RN on Hot.wire with 90% and showing this:

    Amenities

    Boutique hotel

    Smoke-free rooms

    Fitness center

    Restaurant(s)

    Business center

    Internet access

    Accessibility Features

Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility

    $219/night

  7. Are there any hotels in the Mag Mile area 4* and up that you would not want to stay in? I've had good experiences bidding before and may try that again unless there are any very undesirable hotels in that zone. This will be our 1st time in Chicago and really the only thing we'd like for sure is a convenient location that's either walkable or public transient friendly. Our friends stayed in the Wyndham Grand, but the price isn't right for us. The location they said was great.

The deals you posted earlier were from HOT.WIRE? I couldn't find them on PRICELINE.

  8. Thanks for all the info! I didn't know about the conventions in town... We are now looking at staying 4 nights Wed-Sun so at least we will miss the 1st one. Looks like the same Priceline deal is available and also a 3.5 star is showing up which I think is the AC Hotel. Any thoughts on that one? I dismissed the Hotel Felix based solely on the TA rating. Usually TA is spot on for us, but the fact that it has been recently renovated probably has something to do with the low rating. The pictures look nice so I may be willing to give it a try especially if the location is great.

You said there were some better options in the $210-$225 range. We'd be willing to go that high if the hotel is close to perfect so I'm open to any recommendations you have.

  9. We are planning a trip to Chicago on 9/29/15 - 10/04/15 and would like to stay for around $200 per night with taxes/fess in the Magnificent Mile area. We could go a bit over that. I found a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal on Priceline for $184 with guaranteed amenities Business, Fitness, Restaurant, and Internet. It also says choice of bed, but when I choose the hotel it only gives me one option and states that 1 bed is requested and the room will be assigned at check in. Any idea what it could be? Also, any suggestions of other hotels are welcomed! Thanks!

  10. Hi, we will be in London with 2 adults 1 child (under 17) on 3-24-15 staying 3 nights. I found a Hotwire deal for Mayfair - Piccadilly Circus - Soho area for $206 per night. The amenities listed are restaurant, hi speed internet, and business. I thought it might be Lincolns Inn Fields, but Hotwire shows a tripadvisor rating of 4.0 and on the tripadvisor website it gives It a 4.5. Any idea what hotel this could be? Thanks for your help!

  11. I won the 4* Park Plaza Riverbank London yesterday at a price of $147 per night. I was hoping to avoid this hotel, but it's nice enough. Just wasn't having any luck with a 5* so I switched to include 4* and had to go up higher than expected. Do I need to list this win somewhere else? I closed out of the window too quickly to see the amenitites. Sorry about that. Thank you again for all the help!

One more thing, how do I find reviews for hotels on this site? I have looked and looked and can't seem to find it.

  12. Unfortunately that hotel is no longer available on Hotwire for that price. I have bid on PL for the past several days up to $150 for a 5* in the Mayfair/Soho and Westminster area with no luck. We are mainly interested in the Westminster area. We only added the Mayfair/Soho area for a free re-bid. My question is, do the prices tend to drop as the date of travel approach (October8-11)? I have seen several wins for a 5* in Westminster for $90. We are willing to pay $200 a night (incl taxes and fees) for a 5*, but if there is a chance the price will go down we have time to wait for that instead of increasing our bid each day. We will also consider a 4*, but thought we might luck out and find a great deal on a 5* before we head down that road. Any suggestions?
