  2. Hi folks,

Trying to stay in a hotel after my cruise in Miami for 3 nights until our flight back to Canada.

Miami is coming up too expensive (president holiday, I guess") so we are looking into Fort Lauderdale area.

    100.00 dolars a night.

does anyone know what this would be?

    Thanks,

  3. Smyemar, you can add any of the Buffalo areas (one at a time) as the Marriott is the only 3.5* in the whole Buffalo area. If I were you (if you haven't already), get a cancelable reservation somewhere else to give you peace of mind (I heard nice reviews on the La Quinta, very cheap too) and then try the Marriot on the 1ts or 2nd of February. Both times I got this hotel, I only had luck getting it (for 59.00 and 60.00) two days prior to the trip. On the first time, I went all the way until 75.00 a few weeks prior to the trip and wasn't accepted. Two days before the actual trip, bingo at 60.00.

We had another amazing stay at Marriott. The only complaint was several kids in the jacuzzi by the pool. Some of the kids were eating pizza there. Staff passed by several times and didn't say anything.

  4. I liked the Buffalo-Niagara Falls Amherst Marriott so much that I decided to go back for some shopping in Buffalo and wanted to stay there. We're going with friends, so I bid in 2 rooms.

I started at 54.00, it gave me a counter-offer to increase my bid by 15.00 to 69.00 which I denied.

Added another area, tried 57.00. Denied again. Added a third area and tried 59.00 and was accepted.

Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $59.00

    Subtotal: $118.00

    Taxes & Fees: $26.96

    Total Charges*: $144.96

That's 5.00 cheaper than what I paid in November when I stayed here to use their park and fly offer.

Of course, I used the PRICELINE link from this site to book.

    Hope this can help others.

  5. Started at $45 for 2.5* Buffalo Airport area and worked my way up to include Downtown and Amherst and 3* and 3.5* before getting this deal for two rooms.

    $191.66 (taxes incl.) on PRICELINE

$270.70 (taxes incl.) on hotel website

Hi, does this mean we now have an extra 3.5* hotel in Buffalo that's not the Marriott?

    Or was this through Hotwire'?

If this was through Priceline, it will mess up the plan of many people out there that had the known strategy to get the Marriott.

    Thanks...

  6. Last and good update.

I saw today someone got the Marriot for Sunday 7th for 65.00.

I tried bidding 60.00 for my date and was accepted right away. Was surprised!

For someone who tried 75.00 a couple of months ago being refused, I think it's a great deal

    Check-In Date:

    Mon, Nov 8, 2010 / After 03:00 PM

    Check-Out Date:

    Tue, Nov 9, 2010 / 12:00 PM

Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $60.00

    Subtotal: $60.00

    Taxes & Fees: $17.29

    Total Charges*: $77.29

Thanks guys, now I have to find a good breakfast place in the hotel.

  7. Hi everyone,

Just wanted to provide an update.

We have pretty much decided to stop trying the Marriot for our night stay in Buffalo 10 days from now.

Even though I still think we can get the hotel for less than 70.00 (plus taxes) if we try Priceline by the end of next week, we took into account the fact that the hotel doesn't have free breakfast (American or Continental). If we are to add the price for breakfast (13.00 per adult and 6.00 per child), it will become way more expensive than my current reservation at La Quinta (83.00 + taxes for the park and fly package including a great continental breakfast as per reviews on TripAdvisor).

I might change my mind the day before, but the recent reviews from TripAdvidor for La Quinta are really convincing me to stay there.

    Thank you all...

  8. It's been a while.

Based on my observation, if I people wait until the day prior to their trip, they can get the Marriot for around 60.00.

Just in case, I tried today after someone told me they have the Marriott today for 62.00.

I went all the way to 65.00, not accepted.

I'll try again on November 7th.

If I can't get it, I'm happy with my reservation at La Quinta for 82.99 + tax (rate has jumped now on their website to 109.00)

    Camilo

  9. Congrats!!!!

I am starting to see this is the secret to get this hotel for a great price.

If you can wait until the very last minute (and as long as you have a back up plan), you can get this hotel for as low as 60.00.

I have tried priceline bidding for a November Monday night all the way to 75.00 without luck.

I have La Quinta as a back up and can cancel all the way to the day of my ytip without penalties.

I will try the same strategy Kent tried here.

    Thanks,,,

  10. Meemster,

You and I are still on the same boat.

There's hope as recently someone got the Marriot for 60.00 for September 1st.

I was looking into the "Sleep In" but found out on a different forum about "La Quinta". If you go to their website and check the hotel in Buffalo, you will see they have a park and fly rate with code STAYGO. On my date (Nov 8th), it costs 83.00 + taxes. The reviews on tripAdvisor are decent, so I will probably use them as my backup in case the Marriot doesn't work.

    It includes shuttle and breakfast.

    Hope this helps.

  11. Tried today, all the way to 74.00 (seeing that 2 people got this hotel for 72.00 and 74.00), no luck.

The difference is that my stay is a long time away.

Not sure what zone you are bidding on.

I have twice bid for a room near Buffalo airport, zone 2 (Cheektowaga).

First time was January 2010, and I got the Millenium.

Second time was May 2010 and I got the Millenium. My May bid was for $50. I can't remember my January bid.

Amherst isn't THAT close to the airport. The Millenium is right next to Walden Galleria and is literally a 5 minute drive from the airport...especially early in the morning.

I've tried all zones, no other zone in Buffalo has 3.5* other than Amherst .

The reason for insisting with Marriot in Amherst is that it is, as far as my research goes, the only hotel that offers "free" park and fly and shuttle to the airport for any booking, including Priceline.

I might give up and stay at a less nicer hotel and park at the airport.
