failed bids up to $155, Aug 21 - 25, 4*
tried these zones - ESB, MTE, MTW, TS, UM
looking at other cities for vacation option so i stayed low, may resume bidding at another time
Or is it better to pay a little more to stay in South beach those nights?
its better to pay a little more if south beach is all you'll be doing. if you had to choose between downtown and miami beach, i would go with miami beach.
rebid up to $115 for 3*, no go.
decided to take a shot at the winterhaven with hotwire and scored. i love the location and it would have cost the same if priceline took it at $120 but then the odds of getting winterhaven aren't the same. i used "travel links to help support betterbidding"

Thank you betterbidding. your hotwire hotel list was on the money. the list has winterhaven as boutique and near beach, 3*. that was exactly what showed up on hotwire before i bought and confirmed with this reservation. keep up the good work. looks like they are sold out now on Expedia but was showing up $184 with taxes, so ill put that $35 back into my party fund.
rebid 4* up to 155, no luck.
am going to rebid 3* up to 110 (80, 90, 100, 110). if that doesn't work, im going to grab a room im eyeing off HOTWIRE.
no cruise, meeting up there for a big weekend bash with a large group, im just going a day early
tried 60, 65, 70, 75 with my 2 rebid zones for 3* south beach, unsuccessful. will try again in 24 hours.
thanks for the bidding strategy. i tried but was unable to get a room up to 125. used savingsbarn link for bids.
i would be willing to reduce to 3* hotel but would like south beach only again.
can you help with a revised strategy? 125 would be my max again. thanks.
125 would be my max. thanks.
Hi, I need a room for one night only, March 1st, in South Beach.
I would really like to start bidding 4* but I am not sure what a good starting bid should be. Hopefully I can get a good deal since this is a Thursday night.
Thanks for any tips.

How about 4* bev hills? thx
I'm willing to take the risk of not getting the hyatt even though it's my first choice. I mention I want the hyatt specifically because it seems there are bidding strategies where some hotels fall into certain price points.
Hi,
I'm going to LA for the first time and I would really like to stay at the Hyatt in West Hollywood, not interested in any other 3* hotel.
My stay dates are May 30 - July 4.
I've read through much of the board, so I understand there's no guarantee PL will put me at the Hyatt with a successful bid. Any bidding strategy would be much appreciated. My guess would be to start at $56, since it looks like that worked for similar stay dates in 2004.
