Thanks a ton for your help. Did not want to risk it on the 5* in CPS so took your reccomendation on the 4.5* in Rockefeller Center which ended up indeed being the Omni as per your prediction. Used the board PRICELINE link for the extra discount which made it even better. Very Happy with the result. Cheers!

Indeed it was the Taj. Ended up using your HOTWIRE link at got $389 as a final price.. Very happy with the result as the hotel is right next to the Commons from where the buses depart towards the marathon start at Hopkinton and a short walk from the finish at Copley square, so perfecto location and what looks to be a very good property. Thanks again for your help.
Im at it once again! I am now looking at a 4.5* property in the Boston Common - Theater District area at $391 per night, 90% recommended. Last bidder got the Taj Boston. FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower. From the list its looking a lot like the Taj so Im inclined to take it. I will book it in a few and let you know.

An update....ran the search again today and the original property at $420/night is still there, but another 4 star property appears at $531 with the following ammenities:

Free Internet
Pet Friendly
Boutique Hotel
Smoke Free Rooms

Do you think this could be the Lenox? It is listed at $595 in the website for a refundable rate, so not much of a break, but just curious. I have a backup refundable reservation at the Boston Common Hotel & Conference Center at a much lower rate ($250), but its a 3 star and the reviews are horrible so I'm still on the hunt. Just dont know if its worth it to trade up to $420 (or $531 for that matter) or continue to monitor between now and then. Any thoughts?
thx for the pointers. Will do both and let you know. Cheers!

I am actually thinking its the Lenox (given identical ammenities from an earlier post here), and would actually prefer it to be the Lenox, but Im concerned with the Copley Square hotel reference. Any clues? Thx.
Got the Westin again but now as a 4.5 Star (vs 4 stars a couple of weeks ago)

thank you....i will let you know what i decide.
done!! thx in advance for your help.
Im searching for 2 rooms on hotwire for these dates and get this 4* in Midtown East for $165. Amenities mentioned are Fitness, Bus Center, HS Internet, and Restaurant (s). No reviews data is given for the property (it says still gathering reviews) and the only thing additional is that it is promoted as "Super Savings" as the regular rate is $339. From your list this could be either Barclay Intercontinental, Omni, Alex, Metropolitan, Hyatt (maybe others), but I wanted to see if I could narrow it down based on your experience. The calendar of wins shows nothing for Hotwire around these dates, but it does show wins for priceline at around these levels for nearby dates at the Barclay Intercontinental. Do you think this could be it?
thx in advance.
Just booked it using the PRICELINE link in this board for $40 plus taxes and fees. Its got mixed reviews but cant beat it for the price and for just the one night.
cheers,
